  1. My wallet is safe again (already have three PL Charger funny cars in various stages of completion). Now Atlantis is another story, bring 'em on!
  2. Great job. I also enjoy beating the system by creating my own replica at a much lower cost.
  3. What if Butch Leal had stayed with Ford in '65 and ran a Fairlane 500. Had an AMT '65 Fairlane Mod Stocker kit, which came with most of the stock parts. Traded for another body, second seat and second hood scoop (thanks to RichCostello). Had the Cady decals. So I thought I would try a conversion. Cut up the spare body to fill in the Modified fender wheel openings (whoa, that was a chore). Wheels, door handles and carbs are from the Revell '64 Thunderbolt kit. Tires and headlights are from the parts box. Tail lights are photo repo. Paint was Testors rattle can Mystic Maroon lacquer. Forgive the chrome, my Molotow pen was acting up. Not great, but I'm glad to have it done.
  4. Now that I like! Great work on this replica.
  5. What it should have been.
  6. Still have a SAE mag from Oct 1990 with Doug Whyte's build of a 1969 NASCAR Dodge Daytona. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=264141
  7. Great build. I have a DML M51 in my stash. It has the parts in the box to build both turrets, the M50 Super Sherman and the M51 Isherman.
  8. Like your Intrepid build. Have a diecast of the same car. NASCAR was never the same after Dale Sr. died. I quit watching when they came out with the "Car of tomorrow".
  9. Built this one from a double kit back in the early 60's. Have replaced melted wheels a couple of times. Will buy a new one to build it again. Thank you Atlantis!!
  10. I converted a Black one into a Buddy Baker NASCAR Charger many years ago, before they released a kit of one, of course. I kept all the stock parts (interior, bucket seats, and console). My plan is to take my current Petty Charger (that I bought with a coupon from Hobby Lobby) and convert it to a stockish , (What if they ran out of '69 Chargers and had to use Gen. III Chargers), '74 Dukes of Hazzard Charger.
  11. Nice Sherman. Actually I believe it is the old Revell "Black Magic" M4A1E8 (cast hull, 75mm gun) "easy eight" version that originally came out in the 50's. That box says 1/35th scale. I have the old Monogram M4A1 75mm tank and it is in 1/32nd scale.
  12. Headers, they sure look similar to the fender well exit one's in the MPC '57 Chevy Flip nose gasser kit.
  13. Added some rear side windows with posts.
  14. I just found this tread. I am very impressed. 32nd scale, incredible.
  15. Quick, go buy a Lottery ticket, we're never that lucky.
  16. Wow, great paint work. Like the narrower rear track also.
  17. Thanks, Snake says Model Car World makes one (AWB '63 Chevy II sedan).
  18. Neat, true history.
