magicmustang replied to Mr mopar's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Don't forget the escape hatch opening in the roof. -
Outstanding. A Fujimi kit, you say. I have the old AMT issue with an extra built engine but they (the engines) are not as detailed as the HRM one you used.

1970s Revell Top Fuel Dragster History
magicmustang replied to Junkman's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Did Shirley's '77 Championship winning car using a California Charger kit (Got it cheap as decals were bad). Used Slixx decals. All I had to scratch build was the front nose panel and swap to 426 valve covers. -
Retried the pic. Had to use different decals as originals were destroyed in the purple pond.

You did an outstanding job on a very "fiddley" model. I restored an IMC Gulf GT-40 model years ago and it almost went in the trash many times.

Or as Fido would say, "ruff, ruff".

magicmustang replied to ranma's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
You are correct. 16 % of 1 scale inch is 1/6 of and inch. 1/4 scale inch equals 6 1/4 real inches in 1/25th scale. 1/2 inch in 1/25th scale equals 12 1/2 real inches, 3/4 of an inch in 1/25 scale equals 18 3/4 real inches and 1 inch in 1/25th scale equals 25 real inches, -

Actually, it is closer to 1/6". 1/25th scale is 1scale inch equals 25 real inches , so 25" divided by 4" equals a little over 6. That's 1/6 inch. -

Thanks for the memories. I made a mess of the F-100 back in '63. Had the Bonneville kart on display in my room until we moved. -

magicmustang replied to Dann Tier's topic in WIP: Model Cars
My records show I bought the Airfix 007 Aston Martin DB-5 for $79 off Ebay in Jan, 2000. Nice kit, love all the spy equipment. Sold the Aurora kit for $90 in 2010.- 152 replies

Also have an unbuilt Airfix one. Never started due to badly tire damaged windows. Traded off my Aurora kit of one, as it was curbside. Will be watching.- 152 replies
