  1. Where's the rust? Nice job Chuck, like this one.
  2. Coming along nicely, like the tires and the chassis detail is spot on.
  3. It has been years since I ordered but I do remember it taking about 5 months to get what I ordered. Sorry you are having difficulty, hope Al comes through for you as his stuff is really nice. The lack of return messages really gives the resin business a bad name.
  4. Very nice! Well detailed and very clean build.
  5. Any chance you will be offering a half cab? The one on eBay always seems to sell out before I can get one! Some nice period correct 5 slot aluminum mags or 8 spoke wagon wheels would be nice too!
  6. I believe the NFL was granted some special tax status back in the 60's that makes them even greedier when it comes to reaping piles of money from taxpayers. As if that wasn't bad enough, one almost has to take out a home equity loan to go to a game! These teams and their greed will soon price themselves out of reach for the average fan. Here in Charlotte, a new arena was built even though the taxpayers voted against it because the one that we already had was not that old and was in a great location. City leaders decided they knew what was best and we HAD to have one in the center of the city instead of out next to the interstate. And after just 8 or 9 years, the basketball team said it needed improvements to the stadium "to remain competitive and land the All Star game". So the city caved and then the state passed a controversial bill that was viewed as discriminatory against LGBT groups and the NBA decided to withdraw the All Star game! The taxpayers got played and stuck with the bill.
  7. Thanks Dave for the honest, current prospective of what is involved with model kit production. Sure hope things are going well for you and everyone at Moebius!
  8. I have enough WIPs to last me quite some time, much less unstarted kits! I have boxed up a bunch of kits for a swap meet next week, will still have too many if I sell them all!
  9. Growing up in Northern Illinois, there was a paint and wallpaper store in downtown Waukegan called Larsen & Petersen Paint. My mom would go in to look at paint and wallpaper samples for decorating ideas and in their basement was a huge selection of models of all kinds as well as the latest Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars! Whenever we were near that store I would beg to go there and look! I also remember there being a hardware store in Monroe Wisconsin that had a very large hobby selection upstairs and any time we were in town I would stop in and gaze!
  10. Started boxing up models and getting them ready for the swap meet, hope the turnout is great. Should be a good time for all.
  11. Just a FYI, the chassis from the recent reissued 84 GMC kit will fit under these Revell GM pickups with minimal work, mostly trimming the wheelwells off.
  12. I know we aren't done with winter yet, but hopefully it won't be too bad as they said we should have a warm, wet winter.
  13. A week ago here in Charlotte they were calling for at least 4 inches of snow and possibly up to 8 or more inches in some places. When the storm moved out of here last Saturday, we barely had enough to cover the grass and the streets were dry. The northern part of the county and city saw much more, 3-5 inches and then the cold set in for a couple of days. Fast forward to today and it was 72 degrees! Tomorrow could be a new record high, and the 7 day outlook is for temps to be 10-15 degrees above normal, into the low/mid 60's. Sure hope last weekend was the extent of our winter!
  14. Jeff, How much for just the engine? I have a couple of older Jeeps that need just the engine and I don't want to buy Pacer kits for the engines. Also, do you have updates for the website? I recall you having some other new resin pieces but your website doesn't show them.
  15. Looking good Scott, you going to have this one on the tables in Spartanburg next week?
  16. I have a couple of kits from Dave and I would say they are better than most resins out there. Minimal flash, consistent thickness and accurate dimensions. I would order again if I found something in their line I wanted.
  17. Coming along nicely, thanks for sharing the tutorial on the canoe!
  18. A better chassis to use that has more detail would be the one from any of the Revell 64-66 Chevy pickups. You would have to lengthen the frame a little bit but easy enough to do. The engine in that kit is depicted as a small block and swapping in a big block is easy. If you are looking for a big block/automatic combo, I suggest the engine from the 70 Monte Carlo. Those trucks were available with big blocks and the ones that I have seen all had automatic transmissions. The wheels are actual copies of real wheels and are hard to find today. Not exactly my cup of tea but definitely different. Had several of those kits in my youth, easy builds but very simple.
  19. Just completed a trade with Againmikewins and it went as smooth as possible.Would trade with him again.
  20. That is a beautiful rendition of a nice model, you did it justice Scott. Looking forward to seeing it later this month in Spartanburg.
  21. That is awesome and I am very impressed with the cleanliness of it. Like others, I would be interested to know more about this and if you plan to make it available to others.
  22. No complaints here, it will be in the 50's by Wednesday and the 60's the rest of the week. Minor inconvenience but after 41 years of winter weather in Northern Illinois, I have come to enjoy the milder winters in NC!
  23. Haven't attempted to lower one yet, but I remember an episode of Gas Monkey Garage where they swapped in the front end of a Crown Vic to lower the truck and give it better handling. Not sure if the twin I beam can be lowered much in stock form, so a front end swap might be in order.
  24. I've had the previous issue of this kit on my "to do" list for quite some time, I know once I start I have to commit to finishing it. I want to use a more modern looking truck and am thinking the Revell 359 tractor from a few years ago would be suitable and compliment the Can Do wrecker I also have waiting to be built. Looking forward to seeing this one done, maybe it will give me the nudge to get started on mine!
