Not sure if it's still around, but there was an old school hobby shop in Kenosha called Don's Hobbies. I think it was near 63rd St and 22nd Ave. He had models stacked and priced cheap. Nice old guy, I am sure he has since sold or closed it but worth a look next time you are in Kenosha. If you can drive to Milwaukee, The Model Empire is a cool place, lots of old kits as well as new issues. It's down the street from the State Fairgrounds in West Allis.

Hobby primers are packaged in smaller cans and therefore cost more per ounce. As with any paint, light coats are easier to deal with than one heavy coat. Trial and error will help you learn how to apply primer and determine which one works best for you. On a side note, if you haven't already discovered, some of the Ace Hardware stores in the Waukegan area have models and supplies. I grew up there years ago and remember when there were hobby shops and models could be found EVERYWHERE in town!

Me neither. I could say 1963 as that is when I was born, but then again I like 1967 as that is the year the Camaro debuted and I have a fondness for them.

If this was after they announced their retirement, then it was understandable as they got inundated with orders and their turnaround times jumped. I did wait for my final order for a year, but it was communicated well by Carol. They demonstrated for years the proper way to run a business and I can't recall ANYONE having a problem with them. I guess where I was going with this topic is when you order something and then get excuses about why they can't / haven't delivered what you ordered, but gladly took your money. I know we all have things come up in life unexpectedly, but with some it seems like they purposely string you along and despite your frustration, others come to their defense and tell you to be patient. Like my order with Mega Hobby, I knew they couldn't ship my order until they got their order from Moebius and I factored that in when I placed my pre-order. If a logical explanation is either given upfront or once an order is placed, I am of the mindset to believe them. It's when the excuses start and the math doesn't add up that ticks me off.

Check with Kris Morgan at MAD resin, I think he is casting that 73/74 Grille, not sure if it's on his website yet.

I guess I should count my blessings. I ordered from him years ago and it took 3 months, but I got my stuff. I'd say you have a better chance of winning the lottery than getting your tires at this point.

As I wait for Moebius to release the Ford truck with service body, I got to thinking it's been at least 3 months since I pre-ordered them from Mega Hobby and it is probably the longest I have had to wait for something to be shipped. So, what's the longest time you have waited for something you ordered and paid for to be delivered? Try to keep it hobby related!

I have a resin Top Kick Cab from P&P resins and that toter home looks cool with that cab. I was wanting to build a roll back with mine but that has given me an idea!

Build it if you want, throw it up on eBay if you want to see what it is worth.

The stock market has been down over 600 pts for most of today and nearly 1,000 since last week. Typical market corrections when situations like this come up. The long lasting effect will be if they suddenly raise prices on kits because of the tariffs and then don't lower them once/if the tariffs are lifted. I work in the auto parts business and luckily we do not manufacture any parts in China and therefore are not affected, but have seen some companies raise their prices in anticipation of these tariffs and have heard that they WON'T be lowering prices.

Based on these pictures I took the plunge and ordered one from Modelroundup last night!

Just remember this- there are 270 MILLION registered vehicles in the United States and they ain't disappearing overnight kids. Far too expensive for many of us to consider as a replacement for our current carbon fueled mode of transportation.

I see some great responses here and can understand the uncertainty in investing in Gregg's plan due to past performance but also can see the need to help get the magazine back on track. I think with Ace's background, he could prove to be helpful to Gregg's mission and guide him. I am sure there are others on here who could help drum up subscriptions and soon we could have MCM back in our paint stained fingers!
