  1. I like this. Just the right amount of wear and the paint is decent; not perfect which is the way it should be. Nice work!
  2. Great looking model! I recall some fiddly steps building this also.
  3. I recently had my house painted and sent a payment check on July 20th. The place is in town and they never got the check. They looked around their office once more to see if it got misplaced. Nope. Mail delivery failure. So they came by and I handed them a check.
  4. The cat across the street has a little bell on his/her collar so I guess that might help alert the birds if he/she attempts an attack.
  5. It would be great to get an issue every other month but I'm willing to have quality issues rather than quantity. I can wait longer if needed to receive a magazine that is full of articles I want to read instead of a thin issue or useless filler. Just happy these guys are providing me with this magazine as I got to believe it's not an easy task.
  6. Funny. When I was young I used to think certain cars with black vinyl tops were great. A '66 Malibu comes to mind that's dark blue with a black vinyl top. As an adult I don't care for them anymore.
  7. This is looking real good! Yeah, I remember getting a couple of these kits back when and was shocked when I looked through the box.
  8. Enjoyed lots of off-road riding in the 70's with a trials bike and motocross with an Elsinore 250. Bought a Honda Nighthawk 650 in the 80's and the wife and I spent many nice days riding in the country and mountains. Ended up riding it to work quite a bit but figured my luck would run out one day and some idiot driver would run into me (after a couple of close calls) so I got rid of it and haven't ridden since.
  9. Thanks for the info. Sometimes I catch myself spending way too much time looking to get things right when building a model. No one is gonna know but me so I really shouldn't get too worked up about it.
  10. I've spent at least an hour searching online for the correct engine color for a stock 1960 Ford pickup. Everyone has a different answer and pictures are mostly new engines replacing the stock one. About ready to just build the model with a closed hood. Thanks for any help you can give. Also, I plan to put a Ford air cleaner on to cover the tri-carbs. Close enough to make it look right.
  11. Bummer! Yes, he was a legend.
  12. I just finished mine also. You did a better detail paint job than me but I'll bet we all have a slight variation from each other.
  13. Shove a hose down there with the water full blast. That's the way I catch them. Doesn't always work but if you saw it move you probably could've got him right then.
  14. Good looking dog and some great photos. I feel for you as I'm still not over our 2 dogs from a year ago.
  15. Jason, your experience with the J.Crew order is obviously frustrating. We, as consumers need to contact companies to let them know what's going on because they probably have no idea. And I'd tell them I want some or all of my shipping refunded because you had to leave your home to go get it. If they don't respond, I'd never do business with them again.
  16. Sounds like you have a healthy yard.
  17. People.....<sigh>
  18. Many, many years ago I got burned when I opened a sealed kit long after I bought it and something was missing. Since then I open every model I buy and check all the contents. Kind of fun looking at what you got too.
  19. Need an 8 ft wide fence/gate replaced and stairs that connect our lower backyard with the upper part replaced also. Looked online and found a couple of places and contacted them through their website as they requested. I included a couple of pictures to show them what needed replaced. One said they'd respond in 48 hours. Didn't hear anything so resubmitted. Never heard anything and the other place didn't respond either. Tried another well known company and a guy phoned me and seemed interested. I told him I'd send the pictures and he liked that idea and I never heard anything. oh heaven's to Betsy!?! Contacted another place and the guy called, came out the next day, sent me an estimate and we're good to go. I can't understand the lack of common courtesy from places nowadays. If the job is too small or whatever their problem is, a quick response would be appropriate. I plan to spend some of my precious time and type up reviews wherever I can on the specific sites I can find. That's after I get done yelling at the clouds. ?
  20. Great looking model! Both models are very nice. Lots of challenging paint and decal work but you did a perfect job as far as I can see.
  21. I saw that too. I think it was called Pulled Pork or some-such nonsense? I passed on it but there was one 1960 Ford pickup so I grabbed it. First model I've bought at Hobby Lobby in a very long time.
  22. I don't pay much attention to art/paintings but these really impress me! Enjoyed looking at them very much. Amazing talent!
  23. Thanks very much for your efforts.
