I've been stung by yellow jackets quite a few times in my life. All with a story. I can work in the yard with bees and bumble bees within inches of my hands and they're fine. Hate yellow jackets! Strange thing that I haven't seen much of them the last couple of years.

Really enjoyed him in two baseball movies; The Sandlot and Field of Dreams.

Always liked this plane and your model captures the look real nice! -

Don't think I've seen one of these done before. Lots of craziness and color going on but you did a nice job. -
Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 steamed through my town today...

Thank you for the explanation about the gushing water. It's nice to learn something new now and again at an old age. -

Amazing. What's the gushing water coming out below? -
When a person comes to the door and his "pitch" is telling me how many of my neighbors are customers of whatever it is they're selling. Oh okay, then I must do it too! My favorite was the guy who warned me that I'd have a major bug problem some day after I told him I've lived here 20 years and not a problem yet. You just wait, he said. Still waiting. I usually don't answer the door but they catch me when I'm outside or working in the garage with the door open.

Chaparral 1 Sebring 1963
TonyK replied to Rich Chernosky's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Great job on the model! Yes, a very different Chaparral. -
I killed a mole today and that irks me and I feel really bad. In the past I manage to catch one and walk way down the street to the creek and let it go there. It's an area where the houses are away from it so they'll be safe and not bother anyone. Been chasing this one for a week and noticed new activity from earlier today so used my hose method and got him. Problem was, he was blindly running and about to get away so I had to quickly act with my shovel and decided to just end it. Still feel real bad about it. I'm not a killer of things.

I've bought their meat at the deli here on the west coast. Usually buy other brands but it's been on sale once in awhile so took advantage of the price but it's been a long time since I had any so I'm done with them.

Burch Leal's 71 Duster & Billy the Kid Pro Stock Demon
TonyK replied to Maurice Henderson's topic in Drag Racing
Both are good looking models. So frustrating to put all that work into a model and then have the decals screw it all up. -
Littering. Even when I was young, I never littered. Just something I'm very much against as there is no excuse for it.

Many, many years ago I realized Kraft Mac & Cheese gave me the runs. Took a few times to figure it out but either I changed or they changed something. Haven't had it since.

This is a good question and I don't mean to hijack this but the type of glue to use on vinyl is another problem that keeps me from building an old vinyl figure I've had lying around. Thanks for asking this because I needed to know too.

I like it. Reminds me of a time we went motorcycling in the desert for a few days. I had almost the same pickup and slept in the cab. Another guy set up a cot in the bed of his pickup. Fun times.

That looks pretty bad. Guessing it would be covered in snow into Feb 2025?

I like this. Just the right amount of wear and the paint is decent; not perfect which is the way it should be. Nice work! -

Great looking model! I recall some fiddly steps building this also. -
What's with the U.S.Post office these days?
TonyK replied to styromaniac's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I recently had my house painted and sent a payment check on July 20th. The place is in town and they never got the check. They looked around their office once more to see if it got misplaced. Nope. Mail delivery failure. So they came by and I handed them a check. -
The cat across the street has a little bell on his/her collar so I guess that might help alert the birds if he/she attempts an attack.

When will we be seeing issue 225
TonyK replied to bobthehobbyguy's topic in Model Cars Magazine News and Discussions
It would be great to get an issue every other month but I'm willing to have quality issues rather than quantity. I can wait longer if needed to receive a magazine that is full of articles I want to read instead of a thin issue or useless filler. Just happy these guys are providing me with this magazine as I got to believe it's not an easy task. -
What did you see on the road today?
TonyK replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Funny. When I was young I used to think certain cars with black vinyl tops were great. A '66 Malibu comes to mind that's dark blue with a black vinyl top. As an adult I don't care for them anymore. -

This is looking real good! Yeah, I remember getting a couple of these kits back when and was shocked when I looked through the box.
