  1. Very nice! I've never seen one of these before. I have a diecast '66 GTO in 1/25. I believe it was made by Classic Metal Works. It's pretty nice and I'm very happy with it.
  2. Fabulous! I'm looking to build something very much along these lines. Thanks for posting the pic!
  3. Fabulous! The PM system here doesn't work for me. Email me at SnakeACP45 at AOL dot com and I'll send it to you.
  4. Ah, got it now! I was searching for Chevelle and it's listed as Malibu. Thanks!
  5. Couldn't find it. Maybe it went off already. Thanks for the heads-up, though.
  6. If you want to look for them among aftermarket resincasters--or ask for them by name--they're Appliance Apache wheels, and were also found in the original annual AMT '67 Camaro.
  7. I don't know what the wheelbase is. Have never built this chassis, but hope to sometime soon. On a somewhat related note, it looks to me like the AMT Parts Pack T body was designed to drop directly not necessarily on this frame, but on the Fiat frame in the Double Dragster kit. I'm planning to try that soon, too.
  8. I've only used them for smaller or detail work, the biggest thing I've painted with them is an engine block, which went well, but I primed it with a flat enamel first. I've cleaned brushes with water and rubbing alcohol but have found that lacquer thinner works even better. Note that I'm only talking about the Model Master acrylics here. Other brands have other preferences.
  9. My favorite character of his was Mr. Tudball.
  10. Good deal, Tom, and welcome aboard! I've added your name and project to the update above, just since we're still in the editing window. GITTER DONE!
  11. I think that's the same one I bought last year at Hobby Lobby. They have them in white with blue stripes, too.
  12. Round 3 ends June 30--about 6 weeks. You can hold one for Round 4 (assuming we have one, which I think we will) if you want.
  13. Read several articles about the fire the other day. Apparently the story spans several decades and that car dealership was seen in all of them. Looks like there were many other cars for the filming inside the building at the time, so the carnage might not have been limited to just '80s cars. Whatever happened, it's very sad, and so unnecessary.

  15. Shouldn't be a problem at all. Try rubbing alcohol, lighter fluid, Goo-Gone, acetone-free nail polish, whatever you have on hand.
  16. Absolutely. Can think of three right offhand.
  17. Looks like an excellent candidate for our Bring Out Your Dead/GITTER DONE builds, Tom!
  18. Okay, I'll note it. You already posted a pic of it in your "other" thread so we know it's a real thing, but wouldn't hurt to post an "as it is now" pic of it here too. GITTER DONE!
  19. I did the AMT snapper and was VERY pleased with the result. It doesn't have an up-top, though, and the top from the glue kit doesn't fit without tweaking (which I'm attempting to do). If the Monogram being 1/24 is a deal-killer for you. IMHO the AMT snapper looks better than the glue kit.
  20. Very Most Way Excellent! I'll mark you for Third Completion for the next update. Gonna for another one?

    1969 GTO

Looks good! Well done and model on, my friend!
  22. Wow, that is a SHARP build of that model! Can't remember when I've seen a better one! Well done and model on!
  23. Two that puzzle me are the MPC '72 Road Runner and '70 GTO, both of which were available in the late '80s (or, "almost yesterday" to us old-timers). With the exception of JoHans, it seems like any tooling that lasted that long is still around and has been reissued several times since then. I can't think of anything that the '72 Road Runner tooling might have been turned into since then. It's rumored that the '70 GTO was turned into the '72, but I have my doubts. For one thing, they were both reissued in the '80s--I seem to recall seeing them on the LHS shelf at the same time. For another, I wonder if the two body shells etc are really the same. If they are, MPC turned the '70 into the '71 and then the '72, and then at some point BACK into the '70, and then later BACK into the '72 again. Add to this the fact that the reissued '72 body is much narrower at the rear end than the original '70, and I'm really having my doubts. So where are the '70 molds?
  24. I just got it again in replying to a message. I tried again, and this time I left out a parenthetical question, and it went through just fine. Could it have been having a question mark, a close parens, and a comma in a row that caused the error?
