Body and Chassis cutting?

Me neither, and I've been looking. I think they discontinued them about 20 years ago. They want you to use the cutoff wheels now. -
Very sharp, very clean build! Model on!

Very nice, Randy! Model on!

Very nice! I hereby declare you a Glue Bomb Hero!

Last week my beloved riding mower died. One minute it was mowing just fine, the next it was deadern' Elvis, and wouldn't restart. I recharged the battery to no effect whatsoever--it wouldn't even click when I turned the key. I called the local service place (where I bought it 2 years ago), and they told me it would be 5 to 6 weeks before they could even look at it. A second place told me the same thing. At some point I started wondering if it were something as minor as a blown fuse. So I bought a couple 97c fuses and set out to change it. That old fuse was REALLY in there--a fuse-pulling tool wouldn't budge it, nor would pliers. I ended up having to dig it out with a small screwdriver. Popped the new fuse in and it started right up--HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY! Ran normally yesterday for a good mow. I was planning on it costing me several hundred bucks to have it fixed. It only cost me a couple bucks and a half-hour of time. That's a great big WIN at the Snakepit!

Not so much a matter of location, as of timing. I've seen really good stuff in my home store, and then dregs for weeks at a time. I guess it depends on how much they sell and how much they need restocked.

Body and Chassis cutting?

Razor saw. They're not expensive and come in several different sizes. Any good hobby shop should have them. I use mine almost as much as I use my Xacto. -
I know I have at least one of those two sets. I might even have both.

Best part of that Vette set is the '57. The stock body hasn't been seen in a LOOOONG time (this might have been the last issue), just the wretched backbirth flip-front version.

VERY interesting! If it's a good 4-door, I'll buy two: One to paint dark green like my parents' '68 (my favorite car they ever had), and one to try to convert to a 2DS Biscayne/Bel Air.

Agree completely! I'd love to do that, just for the sheer weirdness of it!

You did good. The Badger 350 and Paasche H are at the top of my list for car modelers. Most of us will never need anything fancier.

Was in a town about 40 miles away today and spotted a Rite Aid. They had several gold '65 Rivieras, which I hadn't seen before, and the VERY nice 427 Cobra in dark blue with white stripes (I already have the red one), but I walked out with another '72 Trans Am in white (as you'll read soon, I was VERY impressed with the blue one I just finished), a red '63 Corvette (I already have at least 3 diecast '63 Vettes, but I realized I didn't have a Welly--and it looked VERY nice), and some kind of high-zoot BMW sports car (Z4, maybe?) to keep my Porsches and RX-7 company on the sport car shelf. Oh, they also had the blue '68 4-4-2. Already have one, but gave serious though to grabbing another just for swap fodder.

That's a sweet haul, even if just for the boxes!

Any ideas what this car is?
Snake45 replied to JollySipper's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yeah, you have to look close, but there's a C2 just discernible under all the assorted backbirth. -

I know what you mean. I have one and I'm trying to figure out what I can do with it. -

Another one you might want to look at as the basis of a wild custom would be the Casper Turbo Shark. Anything you could do to the nose of THAT one would be an improvement! -
Fortunately, I haven't painted it yet, so I'll just leave it blue, and I guess it's a 383, then?

Fake eBay "Special Discount" email -
Snake45 replied to ChrisBcritter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I got one of those emails today. No idea if it was real or a scam. I wasn't interested in the item.
