  1. Agree with you completely.
  2. What a magnificent phantom! What's the paint? Well done and model on!
  3. Model Airplane World has been using Future since the '70s and this isn't uncommon. I've had it happen to at least one of my airplanes on which I used Future. This is why I don't use it much anymore. Fortunately, it's easy to remove: It comes right off with either common household ammonia or rubbing alcohol. CAUTION: Don't let ammonia anywhere near plated (chrome) kit parts, as it will strip plating. It will also strip some acrylic paints. Rubbing alcohol will strip AMT and Testor lacquers and some kinds of acrylics. Both are okay for stripping Future off anything that's been painted with enamels. If you applied decals or any painted trim over the Future, of course those will be stripped off too.
  4. It still looks good. I love survivors! Well done and model on!
  5. Another super-clean Randy B trademark build! I always enjoy seeing your stuff. Well done and model on!
  6. Very, VERY nice! What paints did you use for the red and blue? I started one of these about a decade ago, got as far as body prep. I'm planning/hoping to do several Sox & Martin builds but now, with the price increases on all JoHan stuff and the fact that this is the only 1/25 Superbird, I'm now thinking of building it stock. I'll have to see how I feel after I've done the S&M '69 and '70 Cudas and at least one of their GTXs or Road Runners. At any rate, yours is outstanding; thanks for showing it to us. Well done and model on!
  7. #1 look quite a bit like ET drag wheels, but not an exact match. Close enough that I'd use 'em on the rear of something, though.
  8. I'll put it this way: I wouldn't build a model of either one of those cars, nor the track t in the background. Just not my thing, any of them.
  9. Thanks! I've learned a lot from you too this year, Randy. Also from Gramps46 and Geno. In fact, I don't consider one of my diecast posts complete until I've heard from at least two of you.
  10. Good stuff! I've seen that MotorMax ZL1 at Walmart and also love the color, but every one I've seen is like the one in your pic--runs in the candy paint, which spoils the look. I think I saw a solid red one once that looked good but I already have a red late Camaro (Revell kit). Good luck finding one with good green paint--I would NOT buy one without seeing it. I think I bought a ZL1 kit (diecast) last year which is rising to the top of the T0-Do pile. I seem to recall it's metallic gray, but I'll have to find it. Thanks for sharing these!
  11. VERY clean work, VERY sharp! About the only suggestion I could offer would be to slice your decals at the door lines and hit them with a decal setting solution. Well done and model on!
  12. Very, VERY nice work, all of it! I especially liked the Black Widow and the color on the '97 Vette. What is that paint? Well done and model on!
  13. Beautiful work! I especially like the VW and Jeeps. Well done and Model On!
  14. Absolutely magnificent! DO try to spend more time at the bench this year and Model On!
  15. VERY impressive work and amazing story! DO keep us posted on your progress and Drive On!
  16. Very very nice, one of my favorite builds of yours ever, and I like ALL your work! You and I must think alike--I built something VERY similar a few years ago on the old MPC kit. Same color (MM BRG from the jar), same hood (I actually painted both hoods and have the CI on it most of the time), same RS front end. I made mine "day two" on Cragars with bigger tires on the rear. Yours looks great! Well done and model on!
  17. Very nice! Where did you get the 383? I built one of these (in yellow) and stole the engine from a '69 Barracuda. Well done and model on!
  18. That is looking GREAT! Drive on!
  19. I started one of those MANY years ago...got it as far as ready for paint, and laid the yellow on the wing leading edges. Maybe I should parole it from the Shelf of Doom and drag it across the finish line this year....
  20. Now I see why the red show-through concerned you. Didn't realize the green was clear. I thought you had shot it in several shades of green and black, and I thought those colors should have covered the minor tint on your hood. But it looks great with the black hood, too.
  21. I'm not arguing that point at all. Yes, it can and will show through given the chance. I've pointed out some products that worked for me--Walmart Gray and White primers. Others have had success with other products.
  22. Love 'em all, but you just can't beat a '62 Vette in Honduras Maroon! Well done and model on!
  23. These are all great! I think my favorite is the clone/tribute Shelby Mustang. Well done and model on!
  24. These are all great, especially the phantom boxtop builds. Well done and model on!
  25. Very, VERY nice stuff, very clean building style. Well done and model on!
