  1. trying it in glue just now edit, it set fast but its like concrete, tried to sand it but it might be a little too hard
  2. I haven't tried in water but i dont expect it would either. I'll try some in superglue when i get home though to see how it works. I suspect it wouldn't work too well though and just end up with dry powder in the centre. I find it works best when mixed before applying as you can then get it where you want it and use it in similar way to milliput depending on which time length the activator is. Incidently its what they use to make false teeth too but with a different activator. It can melt some styrene too but that just helps the bond if you are careful. The entire body of my custom lincoln is pretty much coated with the filler and some body parts entirely made from it. I plan to try the clear version to make lights at some point
  3. The nail filler isn't too much more than baking soda if you buy it from china, you can get 100 grams for about 3 quid or sets with 3 colours and tools for about 6 quid but it works much better with the liquid for it. If you use the activator liquid you have more time to shape it. The activator comes in 1, 2 , 5 and ten min setting time. If you want to try it I am happy to give advice based on the results I've had with it. I've used it for a lot of builds and even to put sectioned bodies back together or to reinforce behind sections. I got it to try casting some small parts I wanted but it didn't work too well for it but for heavy body work and filling holes it works really well. A couple word of caution with it though, the fumes are really bad and a dremell is too hot even at the lowest speed to work it but electric nail files that take dremel tools do the job fine
  4. A wheels swap here and there soon leads to every kit in the stash missing parts, which then leads to making other parts fit, and before you know it you have builds where only one piece is stock.
  5. There's vents available from many photo etch set manufacturers. I haven't seen any compressors though
  6. I would use an abrasive household cleaner instead of polish
  7. If its thin wall tube you can cut it by rolling it with an exacto blad. It takes a wee while but can be done with old blades as you're using the less used parts of the blade
  8. uscp do a couple sets of drag tyres/wheels
  9. We had about a foot of snow here but 50-60 knot winds with it so it was building up in some pretty big drifts. Because of the road conditions the guy that covers days at work were unable to get there so i did a 36 hours shift on the boat.
  10. Great trade with Hedotwo even tWould happily trade again
  11. Are there fender differences too? they appear to be level with the top bar on the sedan but taller than the top bar in the top pic
  12. I've previously bought from him on ebay and had the items shipped to scotland. He may have deactivated international due to all the delays caused by covid
  13. it originally said december but its delayed, should be out fairly soon though
  14. Well after the original body crunbling because i forgot it in brake fluid I started over with the body from the camper version. I also chopped a porsche 959 chassis around to fit the audi v10. I have swapped the audi gearbox for one from a jag xj220 as ir was better detailed and moved then engine forward a little. I've also used the jag suspension at the rear grafted to porsche chassis.Ive made 2 intercoolers to fit in the rear of the cab but still need to find a rad to fit between them.
  15. strangely, there was a lexus in for the same time and it seems ok.
  16. I've been slowly turning one into a hotrod hauler. I wouldn't believe what you've read about heller kits. Its just some reviewers cant get their head around heller kits having their own way of doing things. For the most part they are well detailed but you may find you cant paint the chassis until you have the engine installed but you have to paint the engine first, or the interior door panel usually being part of the glass. Their just different
  17. Nice, these are good looking cars
  18. My reason for not opening the arches is I have a particular stockish stripe job in mind and it wont work with the raised arches.
  19. I forgot the body was in brake fluid when i went to bed last night. as a result the body has cracked and crumbled so i'm taking the body from a camper kit
  20. if you get the harley quinn edition of the polar lights it comes with extra wheels, a set of brm and a set of empi 5 spokes. I think there are a couple of hubcap options too, smooth or stamped vw
  21. Yeah the only bit i didn't like of the polar lights bug was the front seats. But thats just personal preference
  22. The polar lights bug is a snapper but its still builds up nice. It has a engine that details pretty well for what it is, much better than the gunze oval kit. There are parts to make the tamiya beetle into herbie available too. I haven't seen the last revell beetle kits so I cant say if they are as good but the polar lights and tamiya are both good. If you need a rag top insert for your build I have a resin closed top i wont be using
  23. So I saw this pic online and sorta fell in love a little. And I've had this van on the shelf for a while but never really been happy with it, and since my drag bug needs a tow vehicle..... well I'm sure you can guess the rest The van already has all the running gear from an audi r8 in it but could never be seen due to the tint revell put on the glass so a pick up seems like the way forward. I'll be building it without the wide arches and with more of a modern look. Heres how it sat before i pulled it apart.
