Can someone explain to me why you folks in the US spend so much time raking leaves? (seen loads of passive aggresive notes posted online on this subject) Where I live in scotland we just leave them where they fall, though I do mow the ones off my mothers lawn, but even that gets spread out again in the spring as free compost but that could be cos I'm cheap. Even when I worked for a gardening service when I was younger, out of about 50 customers we only had a couple that wanted them picked up but they were both hotels so that made sense to me as it would save cleaning

I've ordered from clearly scale at least 4 times now, and while I hear nothing until it arrives then I usually get an email to check my items have arrived safely and I will be ordering again once he's well and back at it. It may take a while to arrive but I think the parts are worth it. I know I'll be getting more of his vw engines and probably the bumper conversion for the olds 442 chow car.

The future of offroading?

The cab area of the rivian looks really familiar, does anyone know if its sourced from another manufacturer? the second one looks like a knock off defender -
Aoshima wheels, but no tires?
stitchdup replied to fiatboy's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If you want non stance tyres look for hobby design, they have a decent range that fits the aoshima rims though they cost the same as the rims. -
Modelhaus Offical Update/SA
stitchdup replied to Mike 1017's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm not so sure Snake, in the us your cars may be over 50% . Look how many trans kits there are for every ferrari and lamborghini, they must be selling and they are $80 plus each. Its the same with a lot of the tuners. They might not get posted here much but possibly thats due to how many comments start with "not my style but" which would put people off. If its not your style keep that to the end instead of starting with it, if you start with something positive people are more likelly to keep building. I know I've posted tuners here and no comments but post something US and you get comments. Hopefully this reads as constuctive criticism of the hobby in general. -
the camo is better than the wraps you see in london

thats not bad when you consider the average price in the uk is $7.15 a gallon

K&N Cone style Air Filters
stitchdup replied to stavanzer's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hobby design do cone style, mushroom style and hks type versions that are all really nice, or if your looking to save money valve caps from a racing push bike innertube can be painted to look convincing -
enamel comes away in sheets so that you can almost peel it like a banana, acrylic sorta gums up then rubs off. You might find its sold under another brand name in the USA though. Also it can be poured down the toilet when it gets too dirty and it doesn't stink like oven cleaner. It comes in spray bottles so I spray it and sit it in a tub with the lid on and I reuse the run off

I use fairy power spray, it seems to work on every type of paint I've tried it on. There are 2 types of it though and its the gel spray you want.

Renault tn6c car hauler
stitchdup replied to blazefox's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Sweet, I'm doing pretty much the same with the heller fire truck -
I started on one of these yesterday, only to find the instructions missing but thanks to members here and great customer service from round 2 I'm now well on with it. The only problem so far is the front panel fit is terrible on the stock parts. It will need plastic added and fitted properly. The rear panel fit is much better but again it way off. I'm fixing this by sanding the entire panel to fit the sides. The worst thing for me about this kit is the 1/25 scale (mainly because all my other vws are 1/24) and the amount of flash, but a little extra effort and I think it should make a presentable build

it looks like its just a disc behine the stock rims, you might get away with trying some spare brake discs with the calipers removed

Pulled this back onto the bench, and expanded the build a little by adding a matching hauler to it. I started the hauler with the heller fire truck kit, but have used a 50 ford cab instead of the open one on the original. For the engine I plan to use a datsun 240z engine to sorta keep it inline with the car. The rear suspension is from a revell 32 and the front will be a mash up between the kit axle and some more 32 parts. The wheels are from a maisto diecast. The decking is coffee stirrers.

do you have a pic of the wheels you're looking for? I can only find pics of it on the 5 spokes at monte carlo

well I'm along for the ride, Loved seeing these on the telly as a kid and have the kit on pre order

Has anyone built this?
stitchdup replied to El Roberto's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Its not a bad kit, the interior is pretty nicely done though decals would be better than the stickers they included. It needs lowered to get rid of the 4x4 stance, but it has some strong possibilities -
Sad news, he brought a lot of joy to many of us when we were growing up

I'm in the uk and i got mine from lidl but they only get non food items sporadically, you could try amazon.
