  1. Next up was a massey ferguson tractor. I wanted to build my grandfathers tractor which is a 35 instead of te20, so most of the work on this was the hood which was reshaped to more of a 35 hood. I know the engine isn't accurate for a 35 but it'll do me. It was also my first dio this year. The chevy pick up was an older build
  2. Then came the suburu engine karmann ghia sleeper. I lost the badge for the front and side but it seems to work with the weathered paint. I also used fingernail art decals for the seat trim
  3. Next up was what was intended to be a pro touring build but somehow ended up as a widebody mad max style interceptor with an indy car engine mounted high and proud. Not the most detailed build but it was fun messing about with it
  4. I had a slightly more productive year than usual. Mostly volkswagens but there were a couple of american cars too. So I can get the pics with titles to say what they are I will be posting one build at a time. I'll start with the 1963 impala lowrider. For this one I wanted to give it the transformer look so the front end is a flip front but with the hood still opening. I hinged the body so it can tilt from the chassis and I hinged the roof too. The trunk now flips to the rear also. For the paint I really wanted to do something similar to the awesome lowrider paintjobs seen on here but it didn't really work out as i planned so instead it has some subtle ghost stripes
  5. If you buy a case of all one kit from revell, how many are in it?
  6. I really hope its a type 2 (baywindow) and not a typo. I want a full detail version but snap will at least give the body and glass and everything else is pretty much available. I'd use the hasegawa chassis though since its better than the revell one for detailing. The porsche set sounds cool too
  7. Got most of my parts sorted out. My plan to use the corvette engine isn't going to work due to it being molded to the chassis and body, however I have one of clearly scales lexus engines so I'll use that instead. The front and rear suspension will be independent from motobitz. The transkit is from c1 so I can do an updated version as if the movie was remade now, but I will have to modify the front lights and grille using the revell part.. For the interior my plan is to make the rocket engine into a lookalike version but really it will be a large fuel tank and nitrous to save having to stop. At the moment I'm leaning towards using the wheels from the ford van kit inside larger rims to get that look right but if something better turns up i'll use that. All the colours will be as in the movie. It might be march before I can get going on this as i have a custom vw to finish first
  8. Nice project, these were fun cars in their day. If you try the tp thing again you could do worse than using kitchen towel, its a bit thicker than tp but you have to be careful of the textures of it. Some of it can look like perforated leather when painted
  9. Can I just follow the supermarkets and wish you all a happy easter. I always want an easter egg on the 1st jan and thankfully they went on sale yesterday. Also all the best for 2020, hopefully we have a great year and can manage at least one genuine smile each day
  10. Appologies for hijacking the thread Kurt. Spence if you look at eightyones website I think they do honda steels. It may also be worth looking at streeetblisters as they do a few honda specific parts. Ucsp might also be able to help, the guy there is happy to add new rims to his shop. Someone on here asked about vw golf mk3 steels and in less than 2 weeks ucsp was selling them
  11. thanks for that
  12. I'd probably try a pearl brown over gold/copper
  13. Did you forget the elco Joe? I'm sure you built it this year
  14. I usually keep them unless they are too damaged. You never know when they might help someone else out and they dont really take up much space. I dont worry about sorting them, their all just in one box
  15. Hi folks, just wondering if theres an easy way to remove superglued resin from styrene without damaging parts? If necessary i can cut it off but before i do that i thought i'd ask for other ways to do it
  16. I've found some pretty close cars but not this one. Pretty sure I know what country its from though, lol
  17. Cool, I first heard of the yellowbird from the gran tourismo games but I thought it was a wider body. It had to be one of the best cars in the game and having it and the suzuki escudo jeep thing in the garage meant being pretty much unbeatable, lol.
  18. I'm not sure mate, the only packaging was the plastic. It came from spain if thats any help
  19. Wow, that a massive improvement over the dated original f40. Will be following
  20. Another bug for the stash. I think it may be the same as the imai kit but will have to compare them. The parts look very simialr from memory. The vette was cheap and I was going to use the engine in my cannonball firebird but half of it is molded to the body. If I can remove it without damaging the rest I'll still use it but if not I have something else lined up. The front and rear independent suspensions are from motobitz and they look very nice with lots of detail so my delaheye build might be back on the bench soon. The spray booth I got for christmas
  21. This one I got to give as a christmas gift to my friend who is restoring one of the last ones (probably the last sold but more research is being done) sold in scotland. His one is red but i wont be repainting this. Its in 1/24 and i got it from spain. It is in 1/24 and looks pretty well scaled to my eyes. None of the doors or stuff open. Appologies for it being in the plastic in the pics, as its a gift i didn't want to remove it from the packaging. I think I'll be hunting out another one of these for myself. For such a maligned car simply finding it in 24 or 25 scale was a pleasant surprise
  22. in mismatched underwear
  23. scale production and acsp have nice tyres, hobby design and 19eightyone can be a bit hit and miss on some with the inner sidewall of the tyres being rough/unfinished looking
  24. ucsp and hobby design do them in staggered fitment. the 1224 motoring might be the brand rather than seller. Have you looked on the scale modeller site? they stock a lot of afteremarlet stuff and are in The Netherlands also
