You built some really cool stuff this year. Awesome work! I don't remember seeing that copperhead dragster build before. That's really cool.

While my completed build count stands at a whopping 1 for this year, I’m still satisfied with what I’ve accomplished. Hey, it’s about the journey, right? This was the first year I really got serious about improving my skill set in the hobby. The main focus was on improving my painting skills. While there were many failures, there were a few successes too. I’ll count that as a win. Much of what I’ve accomplished was in no small part because of the advice I received from many of you, my fellow plastic addicts. Here’s a taste of my year in model building, starting with my only finished project. Revell Porsche Boxster. Here are some of my successes and failures in my quest for better paint jobs. Most still need rubbed out, one might be going into the drink if I can’t wet sand it out. Here’s to a great 2024!

Great color combo. My dad had a ‘79 T/A with that color interior. Body was midnight blue though. Are those the decals that came with the kit?

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up. -
Love it! That's a cool build, buddy. I've built this kit a few times when I was a kid, and I'm hoping to do it again this coming year. I know it's got issues, but it's just fun to build.

They all look great! Man m that T-bird... freaking awesome.

You've got great vision when it comes to building something totally unique. And the skills to actually bring it to life. So cool.

I completely forgot to post the finished front suspension. This was done last week. To recap briefly, the tie rods don’t fit as it is straight out of the box. Almost like it’s not for this kit. To fix it, the steering damper was separated from the original tie rods. A new tie rod was then made from round stock. Next, holes were drilled into each hub to give the tie rod ends something to positively locate them. Not really correct for the real world, but it got the job done. Then it was just a matter of gluing it all in place. It ain’t perfect, but it’s better than the original part.

Just a thought here. If resto-mod is too broad of a term, maybe we go a different direction?

Just got some rims from Joseph. It was pretty quick, and they look perfect.

Thanks guys! Pinning the side pipes worked out really well. I’m happy with that. Now I need to figure out how to make a decent pipe to connect it all to the engine. I’m open to suggestions if anybody has any…

Man does that bring back a few memories! I wasn’t really into comics much as a kid, but I was a total gear head since birth. LOVED that magazine back in the day.?

I’m on vacation, tomorrow I pick my kid up from the airport, and today I’m spending the entire day at the bench. Doesn’t get a whole lot better!?
