  1. You've got great vision when it comes to building something totally unique. And the skills to actually bring it to life. So cool.
  2. I completely forgot to post the finished front suspension. This was done last week. To recap briefly, the tie rods don’t fit as it is straight out of the box. Almost like it’s not for this kit. To fix it, the steering damper was separated from the original tie rods. A new tie rod was then made from round stock. Next, holes were drilled into each hub to give the tie rod ends something to positively locate them. Not really correct for the real world, but it got the job done. Then it was just a matter of gluing it all in place. It ain’t perfect, but it’s better than the original part.
  3. Just a thought here. If resto-mod is too broad of a term, maybe we go a different direction?
  4. I’m watching the movie right now on Netflix. So far it’s pretty good.
  5. I used to love Gran Turismo. Last one I played a lot had the intro with Clarkson (3 or 4) Great series.
  6. Just got some rims from Joseph. It was pretty quick, and they look perfect.
  7. Got my first set of aftermarket parts today. These things are just beautifully cast.
  8. Thanks guys! Pinning the side pipes worked out really well. I’m happy with that. Now I need to figure out how to make a decent pipe to connect it all to the engine. I’m open to suggestions if anybody has any…
  9. Man that sucks. Get rest when you can and get better soon buddy.?
  10. Now that is hilarious!?
  11. Man does that bring back a few memories! I wasn’t really into comics much as a kid, but I was a total gear head since birth. LOVED that magazine back in the day.?
  12. I’m on vacation, tomorrow I pick my kid up from the airport, and today I’m spending the entire day at the bench. Doesn’t get a whole lot better!?
  13. That’s one super clean build.?
  14. Awesome job! Love the paint and decals.?
  15. Fantastic job with this kit. Looks great.?
  16. Wow, that’s an awesome build. Your paint work is stellar.?
  17. And here there are mocked up. Now I need to get some chrome on them.
  18. Wow am I a slacker. I was really rolling with this build in spring and early summer, but haven’t touched it since July! Raise your hand if you completely forgot about this build. One, two, three…. Yup, me too! This is a bad time to start back up on it, with my daughter coming home for the holidays, and one definite , possibly two group builds about to start, so no guarantees it won’t go right back onto the back burner. But while waiting on paint and glue to dry, I grabbed it and decided to tackle these side pipes. As you can see, I stripped the last attempt at chrome and resprayed them with a black base coat. I’m going to try the nail gel and powder on them, but I needed to figure out how to mount them first. Pinning them should work. So the pipes have been drilled and .047 rod was glued in. Matching holes will be drilled into the floor pan once the cement cures. That should just about do it!
  19. Yeah, not sure what to do with this kit. Maybe kit-bash? The body mods are ok-ish, but I can’t stand that hood.? I think it’s got potential though. Just needs a lot of massaging.
  20. So without even knowing, I bought more models! My family plays a lot of board games during the holidays when we’re all together. I bought this game called Storm Vault at Ollie’s and upon opening the box, lo and behold, the character pieces are all Games Workshop fit! They look pretty cool too.
  21. That looks great! Excellent workmanship. Can I ask if you painted the headlights? What did you use? They look really good.?
  22. That’s awesome Carl! Your wife rocks!
  23. Hit the junk shops with my wife again today. These followed me home.
