atomicholiday replied to Mothersworry's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
That’s just awesome.?I love this oddball stuff. Very cool. Nice job! -
Just discovered this thread. It’s looking really good so far!?. Can’t wait to see your progress. I’m working on the same kit now. It’s been on the back burner for a few months, but I’m planning to jump back on it soon.

That’s really cool. I’m digging the top a lot.?

What non-auto model did you get today?
atomicholiday replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Yesterday I found these (plus two car models posted elsewhere) I had the original issue Tie Fighter as a kid, but seems like every time I see Star Wars models at flea markets now they want a fortune. The Starfighter was a Goodwill find. Complete and untouched, $3.29!!? -

Best concert you've been to
atomicholiday replied to Hard_2_Handle_454's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
That's awesome! I never got to see Alice but I always wanted to. Looks like a great time! I used to go to a lot of shows, but hands down the best I ever saw was Pink Floyd. Me and some friends took a radio station sponsored bus trip to Chicago to see them at Soldier field. This was around '93 or '94 for the Pulse tour. It was an amazing show! Sound quality was the best I'd ever heard live, and their performance was stunning. This will date it a little for you. Round trip bus fair and concert ticket total cost was $100. And these were great seats about halfway back in the middle. Don't even want to think what it would cost now! -
I planned to mow grass today, but it’s raining pretty hard. Guess I get some bench time after work!?
-
Yeah, but it’ll totally be worth it. You’ll be much happier when it’s finished. And besides, it’s no race. Enjoy the process. I know you will too. That being said, I can’t wait for you to get into the body. I’m slowly tinkering with this same kit. Watch out for the mold lines by the door handles. Yikes.?

What's your favorite liquid mask?
atomicholiday replied to Monty's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
@ Dusty and Bill - two questions. 1) Is bleed under still a problem, just like with masking tape? 2) How many coats of the mask do you need to brush on? -
Looking good Joe.?

That is a really stunning car. Your workmanship on this is excellent.

Between last night and this afternoon, I accomplished quite a bit (for me anyway). Yesterday, I shot clear on my Vega project. Also put a GTX (not pictured here) into primer. Today I got my Chevelle in clear coat, and shot grey primer on another job. If the weather holds, I’m hoping to shoot color on the GTX tomorrow afternoon.

That looks terrific.

That’s a great build. Really nice work. And the photography is awesome. ?

Awesome! That looks terrific. There’s something really cool about a shooting brake. It’s like the ultimate wagon.?
-
Looks good! Nice work.? I started this kit recently but shelved it after doing a little research on here. It’s gonna take a bit more work than I’m prepared to do right now. But I’m hoping to get back into it this winter.
-
Man that looks great! I agree with you. The ‘70 is one of the best Trans Ams.?
-
Perfect color choice! Is this the Revell kit?
-
It looks really striking in that color. Great choice and great build.?

Stopped in at the LHS while we were in Traverse City and picked this up. I’m not really into big rigs, but I’ve been eyeing these for a while. Looks like a cool way to display half a dozen cars.
