old cars

I wonder if that's a Canadian or maybe Australian built Ford? I know there were differences between them and U.S. built Fords. -
Chris, have you managed to collect all the kits in the series I know you had a good percentage of them last time I seen you.

AMT '58 Plymouth Belvedere - Improving that side trim
Can-Con replied to Smitty's topic in WIP: Model Cars
An elegant solution to the problem. Good thinking and very nice work. -
I was sent this rebuilder over 10 years ago by a member from another board. After I got all [most] of the old orange paint off of it there was some damage to the rocker panel areas on both sides, roof and hood. So, after repairs, casting up copies of the stock headlights and tail light area from another '64 convertible I have that's in much better shape I had this,, It actually looked pretty good in silver but i had applied a rather difficult fade paint job on it and it looked pretty good. until I clearcoated it and the paint went south on me. The cracks were right down to the primer so there was no way to save it. , , Fast forward to last month. I had to repaint the roof of the custom Impala I was working on so I had the paint out I was thinking about using on it and it was handy so I painted it at the same time. This is actually HOK candy tangerine pearl base but I put so many coats on it that it ended up more of a candy brick red. Hard to get a proper shot of it, looks lighter in the pics but the rear 2/4 panels in the second pic are the closest to the true color. A few years ago I grafted in the underhood area from one of the newer AMT '62 roadster kits but I'll be keeping the original annual's chassis plate and engine for simplicity. The engine will be getting the better looking heads/intake/3X2 carbs and valve covers from the hotrod engine in the AMT '34 Ford pickup though, it fits right on perfectly.

Tim, I think that even after all these years, that's still my favorite Woody build out of all the ones I've ever seen.

Seems I missed that somehow. I "THOUGHT" I had read all of the thread. Crazy. -
History of Monogram's Squarebody GM Pickups

I doubt those MPC tires actually came in that kit. See how the rim goes up almost to the lettering? That says to me they were just stretched out over the larger 1/24 rim. They were pretty flexible. -
Thanks again guys. This thing fought me almost all the way to the finish so it's nice to get so many great comments on it. ?

Looks great Bill. I really thought you had given up on this one. Glad to see you finished it, I know it was a battle.

OR, maybe just buy his. He does make those for the Bronco too.

I used the old MPC Desert Dogs on mine so I'd say any tire that fits a regular kit wheel will work.

Revell Bronco,Trailer & Buggy
Can-Con replied to PatW's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Looks great Pat. Sure is great to have that old buggy back again. -
Finally got this thing finished. It fought me at every turn for the last few weeks. Not my cleanest build but it's not too bad I guess considering what I was trying to do. I really didn't think I was going to like the front end but it kinda came together after the grille and lights were installed. Also. this is the Revell kit with the custom front and rear pan and tail light bezels from the AMT '65 Impala annual kit. The intake and valve covers are from the AMT '70 Impala. Anyway,, the pics,,,,

Now that's some koolness right there! ?

Nice work on those fenders Steve. I find getting them even is pretty difficult. You guys keep building these wicked Camaros I might have to dig this one back out. Started 20 years ago and the paint went south on me so it's stripped and ready for new bodywork. The white paint sure hides the flared fenders though.

They look exactly like the ones in this '69 brochure pic?

Thanks everyone. Hopefully the next car I post will be a fresh build. ?
