Only $70.00? It was $5.59 Per gallon yesterday, here in Central California. 16 Gallons was over $89.00..! L.A is even worse.

Unreal Roller Showrod

Very Sharp Build! The Base Idea is great. What did you make the headlights out of? You have to be proud of those. -
Looks Sharp. I have seen similar ono to one cars at the Hot Rod Reunion. They are simple, frighteningly so, sometimes. You nailed the look.

Brain Fade-Parts Swapping
stavanzer replied to stavanzer's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The B/B in the '37 is not bad, except for the lousy Blower Hat, and that can be swapped out. Thanks, I've a about four of those kits. I sold my Revell '68 Vette, sadly. -

Brain Fade-Parts Swapping

Thanks, Mark for Joggling my memory. The Engine does look small, now that you mention it. That Chevelle, That's what I wanted. Now to see If I sold that kit or not........ -
I want to install a Blower on the AMT Packrat/Twister Drag Car. I am having a senior moment, and cannot think of any kit I can rob the Blower parts from , other than the AMT '63 Vette, which has an Okay, but not Great blower. Is there another kit I could Rob These Parts from?. I have several kits in my stash still, but my memory is drawing a blank. The AMT '70 Chevy Fire Chief has a Big Block but no blower. What am I overlooking? Thanks, Alan
-
Not Mark, but I think so. The History on these kits is pretty tangled, and I am not sure anybody knows the whole story anymore. I wish they could find the Big Block from the GMC Kit with the Tri-Power.

Neat Idea! Build looks good so far! -
Well, Chris, Mark, Jim and Jesse. I guess I should have kept my mouth shut....

Not sure, I guess, but Atlantis Decals tend to be Tiny. No Options in most cases.
-
Could they get the decal sheet any smaller....?

Cheyv Sportback! Vega's semi-rise from the dead!
stavanzer replied to Faust's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Back in teh day, I called the little Ford Aspire, an A**biter since they were so small and hard to get into. The GM at the dealer bought a lot of them at the Auctions, and I got to do the First Inspection, before they went on the line. Changed a huge number of Oil & Air Filters on the little beasts. -
No, Only Raisins....

That is so true, Snake. I've seen that myself. And, the guy who spends the most money on kits, and builds the most in our club, is an enthusiastic, but challenged builder. He builds tons of kits, has a dozen more he is working on, and builds like a 5 year old. (He is 65) But, he has more fun than any other two members combined. So, it is not always what (or even HOW) you build. Sometimes, it is how much you do. P.S. What did you buy? And will you post pics of it when you finish? Alan
-
Great Batch of builds, Eric. I really like them.
-
There you have it, folks. There would not have been a kit at all, if the new owners had not been already in possession of an already started project that just required more investment to finish. Here again is where the rubber hits the road. There are no other choices. Pick one. Trumpeter is Famous for having one Major Shape Flaw in almost every Airplane they kit. It has become a joke on most Airplane kit forums. Yet, many of their kits sell very well, and lots of them get built, flaws and all. And the Airplane Guys are IPMS Flashlight Inspectors, especially compared to Car Guys. I get it. You wanted "A". You got "A-". You are back to Snake's "Three Options"....... P.S. Looks like now is the time to start 3D printing a 'corrected' Body for this kit! Market is wide open. Sales numbers of a 'corrected' body should be respectable.

The weathering, is well done. I remember seeing these on the roads into the 1990's, but have not seen one in a long time. Even in California, they have rotted out and vanished. -
If you put a bubble canopy and wheels underneath that thing, you'd have a great Streamliner or Slat Flats car.
