Just re-reading this thread. I noticed that the '33 Willys panel is coming out again with yet another set of markings. They are hitting that tooling very hard now. Third Decal Variant this time. I hope it sells well. Also saw the '34 Ford Pickup in Sunoco Markings! That should do well. Maybe (just maybe) the flat bed/stake bed will be back in the kit, since it seem to be a Service Station focused kit. Also, maybe the Dual Rear Wheels will be seen. I will be pleased to see what they have chosen to do with the kit. Lastly a suggestion for Round2. Add one or two trees from the recent Tip Top Shop or other Tool/Shop kits as a bonus to any release of some future kits. Especially Re-pops of the "Trophy Series Kits' or kits with many engine options. A Mod Stocker with the Hoist kit would make a cool pairing as well. Instant Diorama, which seems to be a growing theme amongst Military Modelers now, especially in 1/35 scale. Get some more use out of that Shop tooling while it is still fresh.

I can hope that the Halibrands are also included in the Coupe kit also. Given the location of the parts on the sprues, as shown in the other thread, It would add to the work load to clip them off individually, but as others have said, "stranger things have happened". While I agree with Tim Boyd about the delay in the release of this kit being worthy of note, for all the good things the new Revell has demonstrated, Quick Response to changing market conditions is not one of them. This has to be the slowest OODA Loop, I've seen in a customer facing company. They are not just conservative, they have been Sloth-Like in responding to the obvious questions their dwindling corps of customers have. A look at the product listings at the current company website tells a horrible story. The product offering by category are down 50% in some places. Admittedly, the Airplanes are still relatively well covered, but the rest.......... Time will tell. Maybe the shock of the Bankruptcy is beginning to wear off, after 3 years? Maybe Quantum just needed this long to re-arrange the deck chairs, before starting the voyage? Maybe, for business reasons, everything behind the scenes had to be perfect, before business could go forward? Or, the worst fears of the Doom & Gloom crowd are manifesting, and having a group of "Green Eye Shade" Number Crunchers run a Hobby Business is turning into the fiasco that they had predicted. I do not for a minute believe the last one! The Bronco Half Cab & Dune Buggy w/ a Trailer kit was inspired. I nurture the "perhaps Misplaced" hope that Revell will release a second version of the new Landy with the spare where it belongs down on the bonnet, rather than the 1 in a 100,000 machine that they chose to copy. And Revell is scheduled to share news at the soon to happen Vegas Show. So, I'm planning on seeing good things.

Well, my memories of the Hobby are from the Early to Mid 1980's. So 'that' was the Golden age for me. It was followed by a second Golden Age when I discovered eBay in the early 2000's. No, I'm not Chicken Little about the Future of the Hobby. But, My wants and interests do not map well, on the global subjects that will be coming as the Hobby moves to markets that are growing, rather than markets that appear to be stagnating. (i.e. the United States). But, that is Okay in the long run. I'm almost 60 now, and my "Buying 10 Models at time" days are over. I'll never attend another Swap Meet/ Show, and I will not be hauling away a Minivan full of kits like I did in 2006. But there is a time for everything, and lacking a Mercer or a Kirovets or a Tucker Sno-Cat, I'm done with Grails. In Conclusion, It sounds if you and are a taking different parts of the same argument. P.S. Let Me Know when you see the 1/25 1912 Mercer Kit!

Justin, I stand by what I said. My son builds Warhammer stuff, and I bought Cars, Big Rigs, 1/48 & 1/72 Scale Aircraft, 1/35 Armour (including some of the Chinese 1000+ pieces Wunder-kits), 1/350 & 1/700 scale ships, and even a Few Space Ships, ranging from the Lindberg Moon Probe to the Atlantis NSEA Protector. I've been buying kits since 1981, and I dare say that I missed the Golden Age of $2.00 kits by a good Twenty Years. I also remember how lousy many of the 'new' kits were in the early '80's, Translucent, Flimsy Plastic(Revell), and Flaking, Splotchy Chrome (Revell and AMT), Horrible 2-piece tires. And, Let's not forget the dreaded AMT 'decontent-ed" kits where huge gaps on the chrome tree showed what AMT had blocked off, in order to save what had to be 3 cents worth of plastic! Even as a Novice, I could see and deride the insult that product planners and accountants 40 years older than I was, were passing off to the public. Lastly, I bought 2 Copies of the New Revell Landrover kit last year. I said clearly, that I'm always happy to see new subject matter. I wish DM, NuNu & Belkits much success. All I really said was that they don't tool up kits that Interest Me. No More, No Less. I regard (wrongly perhaps), that WRC cars are a Niche Market. A Larger one than NASCAR or 1960's Landbarges, but a Niche, nevertheless. I suspect that P-51s and BF-109s and Sherman Tanks all represent bigger sales numbers than WRC machines. Tamiya, Italeri, and others do produce some older WRC kits from time to time, but only as an offshoot of the Stock kits of those cars that they have already tooled up. What would by My 1/25-1/24 Niche? Extreme OffRoad Machines (See the previously Mentioned Kitovets K700 and Ural Tracked Truck hybrid) for examples. Camel Trophy Rally Cars, & Formula Off Road Cars. and a 1912 Mercer Raceabout, to go with my MPC 1914 Stutz Bearcat. Thank You.

This looks cool. Combine the bed with an Emhar Bedford Type O, short Wheelbase chassis or the AMT Ford F250 Firestone truck, or the Revell (ex Monogram) 1979-80 Ford F150 kit. Plenty of ways to build unique tow vehicles.

Justin, Sarcasm Much? Not a subject matter that I would buy, but always happy to see new kits. DM MOdelkits , like NuNU and other new players, may never tool a kit that I want enough to buy, but I'm happy to see the hobby grow. Besides, most of the new kits I see posted here on the board are almost all Racing or Exotic/ Supercars, a category that I have no interest in. So, I'm not really the market these new tools are aiming for. But, as I said, I'm happy to see them. Now give me the Ural 5920 Tractor/Truck or the mighty KirovetsK700 as as shown in the video, and I'm ready to buy.

The way this kit was tooled, adding Chromed Valve Covers will be a simple swap. Also, changing out the Rims/Tires will be straight forward. So, just a few changes of Detail Parts, will yield different looks. I can see Atlantis selling large numbers of these kits.

If That is the extent of the expanded decal sheet, they can keep it..... What a huge disappointment. Talk about phoning it in...... Compared to the Superb Decals in the Roadster version of the Scout II, these decals are just sad. Once again, the Round2 Conundrum of the "A Team" and the "other team", rears it's head. This is the "Just Good Enough to get it Done" version of the kit, as presented by the "other team". I get nostalgia. But this is not a kit that needed the Retro Box Treatment, IMHO.

I had a 53\54 Sedan Delivery in the old Red, White & Blue boxing from the 1970's. It was molded in that cream-coloured, almost translucent plastic that Revell used back then. The Door Opening lines were so thin, that I remember holding the body up to the light and seeing bright light, all the way through them. Actual holes! I wish I still had he kit. Oddly enough, I remember being blown away by how detailed the 409 was in that kit, and having a choice between the two engine intake options. That was the first time I had ever seen that in a car kit!

Yeah, I look forward to this kit. There is a certain 'Jaunty Attitude' to these old Monogram kits. Revell may have had better details, but somehow the Monogram kits captured the "Animal Spirit" better in many cases. The embody what the Late Sir Thomas Sopwith (yes 'that' Sopwith, of Camel fame) said about Airplane Design. "If it looks Right, it Flies Right". Monogram kits often captured the essence or 'soul' of a particular subject, better than other companies. Part of their early success, I have no doubt. Even 50/60 years ago there were two kinds of modelers. The AMS Detail Builders and the It Just Looks Right to Me Builders. Revell and Monogram appealed to similar but sometimes different tastes. This kit will appeal more to the IJLRtM guys, I think. It and the new (Okay, Semi-new) R/M Slingster should look about perfect displayed Side by Side........... I cannot wait to see some of these kits built.

Thanks, Ken. Other than the Filled Blower Scoop, a nifty car. And that Blower Scoop is 5 minutes with an X-acto knife from being open! I can wait to see if Atlantis does more than re-pop the original decal sheet. If not, you can always use the extras from the Revell Slingster or AMT Double Drag kit. Both have huge decal sheets with lots of extras. Added. It will look great next to a Slingster kit.

Matt, I thought that I had read some critiques online when this kit first dropped, that Revell had managed to find the only Landy on the planet with a roof mount spare? What I thought I read is similar to what you mentioned. The dang Tire/Wheel assy., is just too heavy to put up there. I can just see the fun trying to wrestle it down from there in real life, when you've just had a flat. Somebody has to be doing a resin copy of the ECSI/Italeri hood now to fit on the Revell kit.

And, Truly, with Street Gasser kits so few in number on the shelves right now, Moebius has much of the market to themselves. I can see multiple sales just based on decal variations alone. Also, I'd wager a large sum of money on the fact that the kit will be tooled with optional Wheels, Induction Systems, and possibly other small parts to depict different cars. Not that we'll ever see all the parts in one box, but my guess is the tool itself will be set up to allow 3-4 versions of the kit. This has been Moebius's business plan in the past, and I doubt it has changed. In fact, Multiple kits out of One Tool could be the reason the kit finally got Greenlit anyway. Only time will tell, and as usual, we will hear much more of the backstory after the kits start selling to the general public, and those folks that know what happened will finally be able to tell what they know. Finding out what happened (behind the scenes), is now common, but only AFTER the kits are out and selling. I look forward to reading all about these kits next year.......after they've been steady sellers for 6 months.

Randy, some of the Early 1980's Revell (not Monogram) Ford Pickup kits might be a help on the Bed Issue. Try Here. Chris has an excellent overview. Revell made at least one Flareside kit. Kit # 6411, but You'll be haunting the 'Bay to get one.

Yes, The Rumors are true. Round2 did release the kits. Including the Ultra-Rare Ramp Truck. But, looking at when this thread was started, can give you a good idea pf how long it takes to go from Rumor to On the Shelf.
