Revell 1/24th scale Jaguar E-Type FHC: Test Shots
stavanzer replied to Justin Porter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Again, I don't see this shape difference, -
Mike S, I don't see what you're seeing either. The photos just don't show me any difference.

Those Spray Paint, and Duct Tape numbers will not be seen on Mod Stock kits, I think. But the Mad Max and Dystopia crowd, Heck Yeah! I just like the Fresh Thinking and new approach that the new decals Display.
-
Boy the difference in effort is dramatic. The '65 Chevelle Decals are a tired re-pop of the originals, and not worth buying the kit for. The Two new sets! Wow! Hats off to Round2 for taking the time to update the kits with all new decals, and not phoning it in. I might be tempted to get those kits......

I'll say that the Hasegawa XJS is the Dead Nuts accurate kit. Revell kits of the time frame that the XJS were tooled are notorious for having niggling accuracy issues. I've reading reviews of the Hase kit for many years. Never once seen anybody cheep about the body being wonky. You are the first person who has ever mentioned it to my knowledge.

Indeed. If we are wanting kits restored, this would be great candidate. Just make sure the chrome plating is done well.

Heavy Haul Project

Just Jaw-Droppingly Fantastic build! No other way to describe it. -
When I was still working on Acura's at the dealer, I found that having learned a couple of Potent Japanese Curse words, really helped when it came time to cuss out the cars. I don't need those kind of words anymore. I've stopped doing things that prompt me to use them....

Thanks Guys! Those FoMoCo rims would look great on the '70 Police Car kit, I think.

What wheels, exactly, ARE in this kit? The box bottom photo is too blurry to tell.

You are correct. That is a Laser Sharp Build! His Colour choice is Spot-On too.

Atlantis Models has bought another lot of tooling/molds.....
stavanzer replied to Dave Van's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I see that there are 5 Ex-Lindberg kits in the mix. 1. Curtiss Jenny 1/48 2. Civil War Monitor/Merrimack 3. Amoeba Kit. 4. SSN 571 Nautilus Nuke Sub 5. WW2 Gato Class sub. (which If I remember correctly, is the oldest Plastic Kit in the USA. Tim Boyd did an article on it in FSM, several years ago. Unbelievable, that tooling that originated in the 1940's, is being issued 20 years into the 21st century) -
Then it's the Oucast, you be wanting.

Bruce Meyers is 94. He is selling his Iconic company. Tough getting old. https://www.hagerty.com/media/news/meyers-manx-llc-sold-freeman-thomas-named-new-ceo/ I wish him well.

Yes, Yes it is. AS us "Old Fogeys", age out, many (not all) of the folks who replace are just too dim to really do what they are supposed to do, without fouling it up. It has little to do with Smarts, and absolutely NOTHING to do with education, but it is more a product of a lack of care. There is (for them) no personal satisfaction in a job well done. No reason to fix errors. They get paid (many times very poorly), whether things go correctly or not. So, they put in their time, and they truly and honestly do not understand why you are so worked up. You got the box, didn't you? They didn't pack it, and don't care that someone else fouled up. Our work ethic in this country has died. The few who try to do a good job are hassled by the lazy and incompetent. It is only going to get worse....... Enjoy your Running water and Flush toilets while you can. Have you met many 20-something Sewer Repairman? That's why our pipes leak and our bridges are falling. Everybody wants to work in a Climate Controlled office, and nobody wants to be caught with dirty hands. Our culture has has embraced and now fully believes that only "Losers" do manual labor. If you aren't smart (or connected) enough to do "Knowledge Work", and work in clean spaces, then you deserve to starve. I'm sorry if I offend, but I see more and more of it. I worked 11 years in Autos Dealers, 5 as a Line Tech, then as service writer/Shop foreman. The only language you hear spoken in most dealerships in California is Spanish. So-Called "Heritage Americans"? They are too good or too stoned to do the work. Now, in other places, I'm sure it is different, but here, Well? 11 years tells me that I'm not too far off. Are there exceptions? Of course there are. But, they are few, and getting fewer every year.

With Fenders and Headlights. Hooray! Here is a review of the Race-Only Version from 2019 https://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/it/kit_it_4706.shtml

Indeed. It sure seems to be the same. One Chassis Tool. Four kits.

I'd think the "Maxi Mav" or the Stingaree would be better sellers. http://www.showrods.com/showrod_pages/maxi_mav.html http://www.showrods.com/showrod_pages/stingaree.html I think the Stingaree has been out within the last few years, but I don't recall the Maverick kit ever being run by Round2.

The radically Tilted Body, might be fodder for an "Uncertain-T" clone. Other than that, I'm out of ideas. Maybe somebody over at Dave's Showrod Rally, has better thoughts on this series of kits.

Semper Fi, Marines! I salute all of you!

Thanks for the photos! Neat Kit of a totally unknown (in the USA) car. I hope it sells well.

And Now, I list a pair of these trucks on eBay. Always a Day Late & a Dollar Short.... (sigh)
