  1. Good Work, Chris. Keep pecking away at it, and it will be done before you know it.
  2. Very Sharp Work on the engine! I like the red colour too.
  3. I see a Roadster Pickup in there. With or Without Fenders. Good Luck.
  4. My whole Family are Huge Corner Gas Fans. My wife even has memorabilia from the series. She wants to move to Rouleau, but that takes more money than I'll ever have.
  5. Who'll be the First Resin Caster/3D Printer to make a Brubaker Box conversion kit. I remember reading about the Brubaker Box when it was shown on the cover of Popular Mechanics magazine in the 1970's.
  6. That is so right. Shame on him.
  7. Yeah, the old double standard. How can I get experience, for a resume, If I've never had a job. Given your interest in Cars, is there a shop you could start 'hanging out' at and volunteer to help clean up and hold things? After 2 years of Riding the bus, and bumming rides, I understand how hard it can be to get things moving without your own wheels, but it looks like you do have use a car when you need it. Keep the faith. Things will improve. Watch Some "Corner Gas". You can tell yourself that at least you don't live in Dog River.. (aka Rouleau)
  8. Nathan. I hear you. But your 'job' right now, is to get an education that will allow you to get and excel at better jobs in the future. I know that you are probably in a big hurry to be an "Adult", and legally you already are one, but trust me, you have some time to make good decisions about your future. Being 'Grown-up' is not all Fun'n'Games, as you no doubt know. I wish you good luck on your future plans. And Trust me, you'll be 30 years old, before you can blink your eyes twice....
  9. Cleaning out the garage this morning, trying to get a load of stuff to Donate. Tripped over a Rug Cleaner, and fell. Broke off 3/4 of my right front tooth, and badly pulled the hamstring in my left leg. Leg Hurts like Billy-O, right now, and the Advil isn't working.... Dentist can get a crown on the tooth, on Thursday. That tooth had a Root Canal last year, so at least the tooth isn't hurting. (Yet) Going to spend part of the weekend continuing on cleaning out the garage. 7 years of junk in there. Much of it has to go. I need room for the car. And still waiting on call backs for Job Interviews. Nothing worse than being un-employed for Christmas. This is my Second Christmas with out work. It is really hard on me.......The family is so nice about it but being 61 and out of work on the Holidays, makes me feel a bit of a Loser. And, one thing did please me. California DMV would not register my 87 Camry because they could not verify the windshield VIN Tag. Forced me to take it to the CHP Substation and have the CHP verify the VIN. CHP Not only verified it, but told me that the DMV here in town refuses to verify Older (1984-2002) Toyota VIN Tags, because "they are too hard to read"........So CHP sees quite a few Older (out of state) Toyotas needing VIN Verification. The CHP officer was very nice, and had nothing good to say about the DMV folks here. But, I got my paperwork so I can get my California Plates on the little Camry.
  10. I don't know. They do look a little bit like that. Thanks!
  11. The '60 Offers more "Bang-for-the-Buck" at first glance. Two full kits (Truck and Trailer) plus plenty of custom parts. To anybody new to the hobby, the '60 just looks Cool! Also, I've seen lots of the '60 at Hobby Lobby, and none of the '63 kits. That might be an explanation also. I think both will be steady sellers. I hope H.L. keeps them on the shelf, the same way they keep pushing the tired, warped Firestone F-350 and the '78 Dodge. The Dodge seems to sell well here in Bakersfield, as I have seen it sold out and re-stocked a couple of times. The bonus Dirt Bike helps, I think. To a younger buyer, both the Ford and the Dodge are just old trucks. But, the Dodge has a Tool Box, Jack, and the Dirt Bike, so again, the Value equation comes into play.
  12. I think, all that was done to the SSlasher was clean the tool & run it. But, I could easily be wrong. Edited to add: Only One set of Wheels? Not even the Extra 5 Spokes that are thrown into the Weekend Warrior Dodge dart???? I want to like the SSlasher kit, but C'mon, meet us halfway. The value proposition looks poor on it so far. Nostalgia only goes so far.....
  13. Banking from your phone was NEVER a good Idea. But, it sure was convenient! At least until a scammer hits............
  14. Of Course, We don't know how far along the Link Belt Power Shovel was, either.
  15. I agree with your thoughts on the reasons why Shortbeds are chosen. But, Like you, I also prefer the Longbeds and 'work trucks'. I learned to drive in a 1961 Chevy Truck. It's a Long Bed-Stepside, Big Window, 6 Cyl, three on the tree. Checking Chevy Vin#s, fewer than 1000 trucks were built in '61 in this configuration. When AMT first released the 1960 kit, some (long gone) resin caster released a Long Bed, Stepside conversion. Like many of us, I waited to long to get one, so my plans of duplicating my Dad's truck have gone to the back burner. I really need to Pull the kits down, and try to do the conversion my self, before my hands won't let me. So, That's why I want one.
  16. I was rooting around in the garage over the Holiday Weekend. Found a box of Hot Wheels, and Matchbox cars. 95% new in their packages that I bought from 2002-2004. I counted over 35 cars, 3 Airplanes, and another dozen cars and planes that had already been opened. I checked eBay to see if any of them have any re-sale value, and most of them don't. 15.00-20.00 are the most any are selling for. Not worth the trouble to list, so I'll just take them out and enjoy them, and give a few to my Grandson. There are two M-B 'Crocodile Hunter' cars, and three M-B 'Jurassic Park' trucks and a tiny submarine. The rest are all H-W's of various kinds.
  17. Beautiful Car. I just wish somebody did a 1950 Buick! The pinnacle of Buick's!
  18. I think this has a far better chance of happening, than an All-New tool of a '32 Ford Pickup.
  19. Cool. Can't wait to see what you do with it.
  20. I want a 1961 Long Bed Stepside, for personal reasons.
  21. My daughter is quite the Cook. She has learned how to make Philippine style Fried Rice. She just sent some over. Awesome Stuff! Requires slightly different ingredients than the other kind, but 'Knock your Socks' off good.
  22. Isn't the Revell 1966 Chevy a C10? I think I've seen it built as a Gasser before, but I could be mistaken.
  23. You sure hit a Home Run with that build! Excellent Finish, and great colour combo. Good Show.
  24. What the Ever-Loving........?! 10 more years, and all the real answers will be drowned out by this B.S. You won't be able to get any trustworthy knowledge from the internet. A.I will have killed it all in a toxic soup of Bad Guesses, Wrong Answers, and just plain Made up Information.
  25. It is a Mitzva to help him. We say you are adding another Star to your Crown in Heaven.
