  1. Mighty fine looking Boss, looks like she is ready to rumble.
  2. Check out Radio Shack. I know they are basically out of business, but I have read they will be returning as a store within a store as part of Hobbytown. Anyway you can order direct from them https://www.radioshack.com/pages/search-results?findify_limit=24&findify_q=wrapping wire The problem is they do not offer the wire in black, only in red, white, and blue so you could build a patriotic engine is you wanted to.
  3. Got a '64 Polar Lights GTO from Casey. Will be using some of the parts to restore an original AMT '64 I got at a model show.
  4. I cannot afford to buy one anyway, so it doesn't really matter which way GM goes with it. That being said, from what can be seen it does look quite impressive.
  5. It is easy to see you have spent some time inside a Ford Econoline. That is some beautiful interior work.
  6. Not really my style , but still a very cool build. I really like the weld detail around the radiator cover.
  7. Thanks for the suggestions and offers. I think on the grille I am going to drill out all the headlights and try to replace them with clear lenses, I would then need to scratchbuild another bucket.
  8. I bought a plastic bagged AMT '64 GTO glue bomb at the CKM show last week. I believe I can probably bring it back to original condition, although it is going to require a bit of scratchbuilding, especially the hood (I really miss Modelhaus). I have tried the AMT '67 GTO chassis and it fits perfectly, so I can have a much better detailed chassis. The '67 Firewall will also fit with a bit of fine adjustment. The A pillars, headlight, and door handles will require some work, but is doable. My only concern is the rear quarter scripts, but I may have them on a scrap piece of PE I got in trade several years ago. Anyway here are some pictures, is it an original or a reissue?
  9. Outstanding weathering on this beautiful old fat-fender. Yes, I must agree the '40 Fords were some of the prettiest out of Dearborn, to me a strong second is the '63 Galaxie XL, and a third would be the '67/68 Mustang. The only thing I see missing is a crack in the front fender. My uncle owned a '40 Pickup and he had a bear of a time keeping the front fenders from cracking firght above the center of the wheel/tire.
  10. Beautiful Sunliner, that color looks really good on it. I have two of these on the bench right now, one is box stock and the other is a short track car without the front fenders.
  11. Beautiful truck and as already said that color looks just right. I don't think my lawnmower blades will cut as low as that front bumper.
  12. One of these shells sold at the CKM Show yesterday for $7.00. Unfortunately I was not quick enough and it was the guy at the next table to mine who had it. As soon as he unpacked it someone walked up and bought it.
  13. I attended the CKM Annual Show & Swap Meet yesterday. First the back story and then a picture. I have been going to the CKM show for the past several years, I won a trophy for best short track there in 2008. Anyway a couple of years ago a man and his 8 year old son came by my sales table. I asked the man if he was teaching his son to build models. He replied, Yes, but only snap kits so far. I had an AMT 55 Corvette snap-kit in my sales box so I gave it to the kid. I have given out cheap kits a couple of times to other kids. At yesterday's show a man and his kid came by the table looked through my stuff and left. A little while later they came back by and the man asked if I had been here a couple of years ago. When I replied I had, he reminded me of giving his boy that Corvette. The boy had built it and entered it in another show last year and won best Junior under 11 with it. He also had it at this show along with an Ecto Ghostbusters kit. The Corvette did not win but his Ecto got Best Junior under 11. Here is a picture of that Corvette.
  14. They announced next year will be August 31st, at least that is what I think I heard as I was going out the door with my stack of unsold models.
  15. The oldest stalled project I have is a '60 Ford Galaxie converted to a sedan delivery. Ordered the PE set for it and had some grandiose plans, but it has been in the box since '95. Have never made pictures of it. My next stalled project is a SCRambler gasser, started working on it in 2010.
  16. I'll be there. Will have some deals, just look for one of the old fat guys wearing a "Glory Days" drag racing t-shirt and a "USAF, MSGT Retired" baseball cap.
  17. If it is anything like the local A. C. Moore they're model selection will be slim and very few if any of the new releases. However they do have a 55% coupon on their telephone app and if you are a veteran there is another 10% on top of that. I have bought a couple of kits there for just over $10.
  18. Wow, a Shelby Maverick. Now I think I have seen it all.
  19. Way cool truck, nice detail work. With no front fenders it would be an "altered" not a "gasser".
  20. I haven't seen a kit in WalMart for at least 8 or more years. Big Lots used to get them around Christmas time, but I haven't seen any there in at least 6 years. Right now the only 'big-box store' that carries any models around here is Ollie's, and then only sporadically. Now I have seen some fairly nice 1/43, 1/18, and a few 1/24 diecasts is WalMart, but I am into plastic so they don't appeal to me that much.
  21. There are some similarities, but also quite a few differences. Wheels, grille, headlamps, windshield wipers, vent windows, front edge of front fender, front door window, appears to have a more rounded rear roof line, and fender parking lights to name a few.
  22. Very beautiful build. Really like the color combination and the overall cleanness of the build. Those are some "loud" looking exhaust pipes.
  23. Really tough looking truck, especially like the bed. The only thing I see missing is painting that beautiful welder blue and putting a Miller decal on it - I used Miller welders during my stint in the USAF and really loved them.
  24. My all-time favorite car that if I won the lottery I would go out and find. - '65 Chevelle SS. Mine was a 283 4-speed car in Tahitian Turquoise.
  25. Our local TV station's Chief Meteorologist (ROFL) drives me nuts. She is so giggly it is almost sickening. Anyway, we have just come through a very heavy rain system, here at the house we had over 7.5" in four days. The temperatures averaged high 80's every day. The rains have somewhat subsided and the temps are climbing back up into the low 90's with almost matching humidity. Last night when she was doing the forecast, she made the comment "it is almost feeling summer-like again". What the dickens is in her mind other than air? Before the rains it was in the mid 90's and dry for over three weeks. To me anything over 80 degrees is summer-like.
