  1. That looks to be quite unstable to me. I can imagine the effects the recoil from that machine gun would have on it, especially if it is at an angle from straight ahead.
  2. That is such a sweet pickup. The body changes are subtle, but then also in your face. If it were at a 1:1 car show people would walk by and say, "Very nice restoration...Wait! Ford didn't build one like that, what is it?" Very masterfully done conversion.
  3. My 1:1 grail was my '65 Chevelle SS, 283, 4 speed car, with headers and 55 GMC truck mufflers - they had a real mellow tone. I have the Revell '65 kit, the parts pack 283, the MCG photoetch, and I know I have a couple of kits with chrome steelies. There is going to be an issue with the tail panel since the Revell kit has the 300 tail panel and it differs quite a bit from the SS, especially in the taillights. I don't know what is holding me back from pulling the trigger on this one, just want to be sure my abilities match up to the car in question. The shoe polish name on the side and the writing on the rear window is not part of the overall plan
  4. When we moved into our retirement home, the home we will leave in a body bag, I took one corner of the basement to build into a hobby area. It is a great place to work in the warm weather, but that basement gets a bit cool in the other times of the year. Trying to figure some way to economically warm the area. Anyway here are some pictures. The flames on the back of the chair is actually a BBQ apron I wear while working - I have ruined too many pants/shirts over the years.
  5. Well they are still working on the I-77 parking lot through my county in NC. Since this project started last summer there have been three major pile-ups resulting in 6 deaths, and all three happened within 100 yards of each other. On a good day there will be 5-7 mile long two-lane traffic merging into one lane traffic jam. But the crews are still working. The estimated completion time of this project is sometime in 2021 or 2022.
  6. Looks like you have your engineering in the right place. This should turn out to be a believable conversion. Let's see more.
  7. Wow that is a beautiful bus. I have driven a couple of those as spares when my bus is in for maintenance; when they are worn out they are real hogs to drive. What scale is this and where did you get it? The only thing I see missing is trash and bubble gum all over the floor.
  8. After all these good words it is difficult to add more, but I will try. That is one beautiful FORD, the paint and decal placement came out excellent. I really like it
  9. Oh yeah, they are plenty cool - as long as they are empty. I've been driving one for 12 years and still have my sanininity, umm, I mean my insaneness,; no that's not right either. Oh well, you get the idea.
  10. Some very nice looking dirt trackers. Saved a few to my "Would like to build file".
  11. Wow, that is one beautiful FORD. Bob Glidden was one of my favorite drivers, may he R.I.P. You have done some excellent work on this build.
  12. Wow, I somehow just came upon this build. What you are doing is excellent scratchbuilding work. I am going to steal some of your ideas. I have an extra Falcon Ranchero body I have cut and slipped forward, added some extra kit custom pieces to; body has not been extended. Right now it is in the "to get to pile", this build may inspire me to move it forward.
  13. Excellent build of a fabulous pro-stocker. All the work you put into this one is very well represented. Thanks for sharing it.
  14. Very nice looking build, especially from the dog you started with. Really convincing weathering.
  15. Looks like a good kit. How are the panel lines? I built their Hyundai Azera and the panel lines were almost non-existent. My wife owns a 2016 Sport (I-4, FWD), it is her second one the first was a 2003 V-6 AWD. Would like to find one of these.
  16. Never have had a real taste for many of the pre-sweetened or flavored cereals. My favorite is plain old Corn Flakes with a banana, some strawberries, or peach slices over the top. I do like Cheerios, favorite is the Multi-grain, although I will eat some of the Honey Nut on occasion. I will eat Raisin Bran only when I need the "Drano effect"; yeah, I know TMI. I do remember a mail-in two box tops and $.10 for a set of four fire-trucks.. Really disappointed when they arrived. They were about 1.5 to 2 inches long, made of red hollow plastic and the wheels were molded to the side. Of course I would like tho have them now, they would probably be worth much more than that.
  17. Good looking T-Bird. I originally thought Ford blew it with the T-Bird after the design change in '58, but many of those new designs have grown on me, especially the later ones beginning with '83. Really like your rendition of this one.
  18. I must admit I am addicted to Little Debbie's oatmeal cookies. The cream filling is the best and those cookies are just the right texture and moistness. Our local Dollar General has them 2 for $1, back when I was working (before the quarantine) I would stop by there almost everyday and splurge a $1. Recently the oatmeal cookies were in short supply so I would buy the Little Debbie's chocolate fudge coated coconut bars, again 2 for $1.
  19. Very nice looking engine. Where did those headers come from?
  20. I have been out of work going on my second week. I drive a school bus and had sort of thought about retiring at the end of this school year; each year the kids get more obstinate and unruly than the year before. Anyway, this government-imposed layoff has got me to rethinking that. I love my wife, but I really miss those few hours out of the house with other people. We are not in lockdown yet, but our governor seems to like to be a follower. He has already shutdown all eating establishments (drive-through only), yesterday he shutdown beauty parlors, barber shops, and tattoo parlors. Guess I will have to grow a "man-bun" until this is over. Got plenty of kits to keep me busy, but just can't seem to get motivated. My bench is in the basement and it has not warmed up enough yet to build without wearing a jacket. Am I getting "cabin fever"? Yeah, just a bit, but as soon as the weather breaks a bit I will be able to get into my garden, mow the lawn, and do other outside chores.
  21. Have been lurking in the background watching this build come together. You have done an excellent job with your attention to detail and overall abilities to notice the small stuff. Really looking forward to more updates and the finished product.
  22. News reporters that cover only one side of a story. I know there must be thousands of people who have contracted this "virus" who have survived it, gotten well, and are living normal lives. Yet all the news reports are the number of new cases, the closing of another industry, or forcing people to stay inside their homes. Get real folks.
  23. Going to be a very timely build. Looking forward to updates. As a side note, earlier this week the NCHP pulled over a stolen rig and found it was loaded with TP; I guess someone was planning on subsidizing their retirement.
  24. Looking forward to your build of this scene. Love those old B&W photos, especially the night shots; one of my favorite forms of photography.
  25. Also builds into a nice short track racer.
