Missing top for Baja Bronco
iamsuperdan replied to suprafastcelica's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If that's the Revell kit, emailed customer service and ask for one. I had the Ramcharger with a crazy warped body. They sent a replacement with no issues. -
As an aside guys, I'm going through the every link in this thread and am updating them. Will be editing the original post at some point to reflect all the links that are still active. Have reached out to a few vendors, as there are links posted with websites not updated in at least 5 years. There was one that said the last update was in 2007. Stay tuned...

Years ago, I found a couple of Polar Lights NASCAR kits in my local Walmart. $8 CDN each. Had to grab them. Should have grabbed a couple of each. Have never seen another kit there, despite looking.

Biggest pet peeves on builds.
iamsuperdan replied to LL3 Model Worx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Every. Single. time. ? I finish a build and I'm digging it. I dust it, clean it, get it as lint free and presentable as possible. i take pics, and boom. Pet hairs, dust, finger prints. Where did these come from?! Why does that bumper only look crooked in pictures? Ah well, shrug, smile, and move on to the next! -
Before he went on hiatus, Clearly Scale had a Hellcat engine resin kit, and a Hellcat conversion kit for the Revell '09 Challenger. I should have bought an engine or two.

THE OFFICIAL CannonBall Run 2020 theme thread!
iamsuperdan replied to disconovaman's topic in Community Builds
I some ideas. 1. 1:1 Ownership – build must be of something YOU have owned. Not something in the family or something your neighbor had, etc. Something YOU owned. Need pics of the real thing included in your submission, preferably a pic of you with the vehicle. 2. Movie Car Inception – must build a movie car out of a movie car. For example, turning a DeLorean into KITT. Or turning Christine into the General Lee. Or The A-Team van into Ecto-1. Ecto 1 into Wayne Campbell’s Mirthmobile? 3. Rockin’ and Rollin’ – music inspired build. Tour bus? Equipment van? Limo? Tribute vehicle? Mad Max guitar truck thing? Something music-related. -
Biggest pet peeves on builds.
iamsuperdan replied to LL3 Model Worx's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Unfortunately, that list is in the hands of the Easter bunny and Santa Claus, in the land of things that don't exist. There will ALWAYS be someone that can't handle criticism of any kind, whether constructive or not. That's just how it is. i think I can speak for the moderation team by saying that if you can offer constructive criticism in a thread in a positive way, we will not reprimand anyone if someone complains. I'm not talking about butt-kissing or using kid gloves, but we're all adults, and I think most of us know how to be civil and polite. We don't have to be nice all the time, we just have to be grown ups about it. It's not a bad thread at all. It can be a fun discussion, but only if everyone behaves. Unfortunately, that just doesn't happen all the time. -
it's simple. It's about the costs. Mainly licensing fees and creating the new tooling. For a shrinking and limited market, it's a touch business decision. I have to think that Round2 or someone has looked seriously into a Challenger Hellcat though. I think that would be a no-brainer. Still, not a cheap venture.

Are the MPC 1978 Dodge trucks at HL?
iamsuperdan replied to GMP440's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
These have been out for a while haven't they? We don't have Hobby Lobby's here, but I bought mine locally last spring. I'm sure if your local HL or LHS doesn't have one on the shelf, it could be ordered for you. -

*sigh* I really dislike these threads. no matter how innocently they start, there inevitably ends up being people who take general comments personally. And there are always people that loosely mask their disdain at other builders's style. I predict a lock in the near future. And just like in the last pet peeve thread, I still want to build a kit that encompasses ALL of the peeves listed. See how many people get triggered. ? -
Hacking my way along here. Got all the main pieces cut and glued together. I'm pretty happy with the layout. Now to start finishing the walls and flooring.

I have been actively hunting for this one for a few years now. 78 Thunderbird was my first car, and I MUST build a replica.

Round 2 December 2019 Product Spotlight
iamsuperdan replied to martinfan5's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I'll have to pick up the Monaco police car. I love these 70s Chrysler products. Surprised the Godzilla kit isn't a Coke themed kit. Someone else in this thread said it right. We give Round2 a hard time about all the Coke stuff, but they're pretty good value kits. You get a nice car/truck, and usually get extras like Coke machines or coolers or whatever. There's no rule that says you have to use the decals. -
No story?! Or just no story yet?

Welcome! This place is a wealth of knowledge. Lots of people here with ridiculous skill. Mindblowingly good. If you have questions, just ask. Everyone here is happy to assist. Looking forward to seeing your pics and builds!

That's too bad, because the sandpaper looks really good. I like the wood idea too.

Of course it's a garage. It's what we all do! lolz I know what I'm doing for the interior and exterior walls. I have a couple of things I'm going to try for doors and windows. And I've been amassing pieces for the interior. However... What do you guys to do simulate a concrete shop floor? Something easy is always good, but i'm more concerned with the finished product. Thanks!

Military Aircraft decals?
iamsuperdan replied to iamsuperdan's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks for that! I do have a 1/48 kit as well, so I might just pick these up so i have them. -
I'm a fan of trucks but...
iamsuperdan replied to iamsuperdan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
LED headlights are commonplace and legal now. Camera based rear view mirrors are currently being reviewed by the NHTSA, and I would bet they'll be legal and approved by the time this thing hits the market. Crumple zones are almost never obvious on vehicles. This truck appears to be no different than a McLaren or even a Lotus Esprit in terms of obvious crush zone. Not to diminish safety, but trucks do not have to meet the same standards as cars do. Most manufacturers will build their trucks to car levels of safety, but it's not a requirement at this time. As an aside, I don't know what it is with electric vehicle designers and trucks, but have you seen the Bollinger B1? I'll take the Cybertruck over this ugly box.
