The new Mack made it's debut last night! Also noticed in the opening credits, that there appears to be another newer truck pictured. Appears to be a Volvo highway truck.

Go check the truck under glass! Two current threads on this kit. I just finished one, and the OP just posted this one! It's an AMT kit. Kenworth T600A. Mine is the T600A Canepa, very similar to this one. EDIt: I just noticed. OP's trailer is not the one I posted. It's an older AMT kit. THe background pic in his pics IS of the one I posted.

Yuu've never seen that before?! That's a Revell kit. First came out in the 80s, then there was a reissue (mid-2010s I think) Rumour is it's being reissued next year.

Blade Runner was made in 1982. Blade Runner was set in 2019. Blade Runner essentially created the concept of "cyberpunk." I have to think Elon was thinking about all of this when developing the truck. Heck, this is a guy who put Spaceballs references in his cars. I won't be buying one , but more power to him.

Check the performance figures on their website. If it truly does what they say it does, then it's a hgihly capable beast. Too bad it looks the way it does. i have a theory. Elon has always stated his belief that companies need to do their part to help clean up the earth. Climate, environment, whatever. i think this is his way of bring an electric truck to market in a very short amount of time, in order to force the other brands to get their trucks to market, lest they lose market share. Styling is as simple as it gets, and there are no curves, so it should be quick to produce. And with pricing starting at $40k US, that puts it right in line with the F150 or Silverado 1500. With more capability. i think there are enough people that will not care about the looks, and will buy it purely for performance, or for the wow factor. Either way, the other brands see their share drop a little, which is a big deal for them. Hmm...

I have two of the originals and one of the reissues. Have been humming and hawing about trading/selling one of the originals. Might have to do that before news of these reissues becomes well known!

Lolz My wife got a very concerned look when I mentioned to her that I was going to be building a diorama. "Where is THAT going to go?!"

Was my birthday last week, and the family knows what I like; cars from the 80s and stuff for a garage diorama I'm working on this winter.

Exciting times in last night's episode. Jamie said bad things about old trucks. Looks like next week we get the debut of the new Mack.
