  1. Have had this old kit for a while. Not my best work, but I'm reasonably happy with it. The paint fought me the whole way. I'm usually really good with masking and avoiding bleed through. Not this time. Luckily, I have enough paint that I was able to touch up a lot of the issues. Still not perfect, but will look fine on the shelf. it was also very strange. The white, yellow, and red laid down very nicely. The orange though...totally rough and bumpy. It's all Tamiya spray cans, all purchased at the same time. Same prep work for all, but the orange is a completely different texture. I think my biggest surprise is that the decals were still good. They needed a lot longer in the water to soften up and slide off the backing, but they worked. Anyway, nice kit, easy kit, good slump buster.
  2. I used to have flat flesh. They I married a Ukranian girl with a mother who is old school Ukranian. Thanks to her kitchen, I'm no longer flat.
  3. No obvious paint issues I can see. Looks pretty dang good!
  4. On a somewhat related note, I have a jar of Tamiya XF-15. Flat Flesh.
  5. I appreciate your optimism, and I hope there can be a civilized discussion about this. However, a lot of people here just can't do that. A note to everyone: personal attacks on ANYONE will not be tolerated and will get this thread locked down and warnings/suspensions/bans issued. Personally, I have no problem with criticism, but try and offer solutions or ideas instead of just complaining. Thanks!
  6. It was The Guild that built this car. The owner guy with the crazy shirts is in the vid.
  7. Want. Definitely going to be looking for this one.
  8. Well, it's getting personal, so that's enough of this thread. I'll definitely be watching EBy when these become available, and will happily bid until I hit the limit I put on a kit. Just like I do for every auction. Fingers crossed.
  9. Stunning. I remember seeing this one in SA when that issue came out.
  10. If people want to sell stuff privately through PM, that's fine. I've done it too. But it is entirely independent of the magazine or this forum. We as moderators do not have a problem with this. However, we're not about to become a part of the selling system. Even if we created a sub-forum specifically for selling, and stated that we aren't getting involved, you know exactly how that would go. Someone would get screwed, and the moderation team would be somehow blamed for allowing it to happen. It happened with the Pay It Forward thread, it will happen in a sales thread. You know it, I know it, deep down, everyone knows it would not work.
  11. Exactly what happened. He was doing great business in BC, then saw the money being made here in Alberta's oil patch. So he decides to come here and try to earn his share along the road to Fort McMurray. So he packs up, moves everything here...and the economy tanks. He picks the worst time in over a decade to open a business in Alberta. All the newer units came to Alberta and sat idle. And the BC operation did poorly because he sent all the big stuff to Alberta, so had no trucks that could handle the work he was known for. ANd a few seasons ago, when he was laying everyone off? Well of course he had to! Because he neglected the BC business, other companies came in and ate his lunch. No business means you don't need the full staff. Major business blunder.
  12. My favs have been favs for a very long time. 1991 Porsche 964 RS in Maritime Blue. Hands down, my all time dream car. 1969 Charger Daytona. Hemi, 440, I don't care. I just want one. Have done since I was in junior high and first read an article in Car & Driver about one. Ford F550 with Earthroamer conversion. Because I need something for camping/overlanding/exploring/apocalypse. And I love unreliable 80s cars. Seriously. Aston Martin Lagonda Alfa Romeo 75 / Milano Lamborghini LM002
  13. I like it. As an aside, Epcor's HQ is here in Edmonton. They're one our larger clients at work.
  14. "Green" spaces are not legally enforcable. Not here anyway. This came up when Ikea put some green spaces in front of the store. Around the same time, a high end restaurant in town put up two signs that said "fancy car parking only." Oh, the outcry was huge! And amusing.
  15. The Frieghtliner Inspiration has been operating in Nevada since 2015. Fully autonomous truck. Yes, there is an operator in there, but he doesn't actually operate the truck. And so far, they haven't had an incident that required him to take over control.
  16. "All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain."
  17. I think all mid-engined cars bear similarities, but still look nothing alike. C8 vs GT C8 vs Ferrari At least the plagarism isn't as blatant as the C7 Corvette.
  18. Very cool! I've been hunting for any of the RoG Corrado kits for sometime now. Watching!
  19. So no manual transmission then. Booooo
  20. Not bad. Front end seems odd. WIll look better in person.
  21. The launch is live right now. https://media.chevrolet.com/nextgencorvette
  22. According to the bopx, it comes with soft drink cans? No Billy Beer? Booo... Build is looking great so far. Love the extra details.
  23. I'm in awe of your paint. So smooth and glossy.
