  1. You know I'll participate! Someone in my club asked if it's happening. Any idea if you will do the virtual version again?
  2. Made Hella Supertone horns. Every Subie hot rod needs them. Anyone who is doing 3D printing should offer these, it's a tiny detail but think they would be popular for the import crowd.
  3. Seeing how far 3D printing has come, not surprised.
  4. Every picture I look at has a hundred hoses and/or wires in there, could just toss a mangled mess onto the engine and call it good. ? I have 6 engines for curbside models, not counting the Hellcheetah, so that is about 100 years of projects right there. Every hot rodded Subie has to have Hella Supertone horns. Most of them are red, but there are many colors available. I'm surprised nobody makes these for models, with 3D printing it can't be difficult; found the dimensions. Used the cordless drill, Dremel, and a bunch of other tools. I save lots of sprue, this was the biggest I had. Despite having more to do on the chassis and engine area, wanted to get started on the body! First up was the Tamiya white primer, first time for me (have used the grey). Then gloss red, for the kit's fire safety equipment, scratch-built strut brace, and of course the horns. Also decided last minute to do the rally light, thought it would add pizazz, and of course at night with the light on won't make any difference. ? Flat black for the roll cage and some other parts. Instructions call for German Grey, but for some reason hobby shops never have it in stock, used 'battleship gray' for the seats and door panels. Then gloss black for the rally light and fuel cap, which will get Alclad 'chrome'.
  5. I love it! That was a great way to get those guys off your back. ? I've built military subjects too, started out with Bandai 1/48 German Afrika Korps, but haven't done anything for years. Have a bunch of kits that are automotive related, transport trucks, armored cars, and recently several Mercedes 170V, but they are low on my radar. I did this years ago, for a slump buster. Anyway, really like your M1 F1. ?
  6. Oh ok, good to know! Seeing the headlight lenses are chrome, while the new kit has clear plastic, HUGE improvement. Find it amusing this topic is already on page 2, when I haven't officially started yet. ?
  7. Just in case someone reads this far, and was wanting to join the fun, I have the Celsior body from a project, that would be perfect stealth with a race car chassis. PM me.
  8. MOTOR AUTHORITY: Ferrari's record-breaking V-12-powered race boat is for sale Dupont Registry: One-of-a-kind: Historic Ferrari Race Boat for Sale Business Insider: This one-off, record-holding boat has a Ferrari race engine and a $12 million price tag — see the 1952 Arno XI Years ago, I saw a resin kit of this boat in a catalog, but didn't have the money to buy one. On a hunch, looked at eBay and saw that several craftsmen are making wood scale models of this boat (picture), in various scales. The engine is from the 375 series, with twin superchargers, still holds the record of 150 MPH (in class). I'm not into boats as a rule, but this one is too cool to not show y'all.
  9. Thanks! A bit tired, but *had to* work on the engine bay some more. Made mounting things for some of the accessories. Made a different strut brace, will try to get in straight during final assembly. The engine kit comes with factory air intake and filter parts, but also this cool aftermarket filter. Aluminum wire, aluminum newspaper printing plate, have a cold air box. The funny thing about this, no distributor, I mean come on man! ?
  10. Welcome. ?WOW!? Amazing work there. Look forward to seeing more!
  11. Found on Fakebook Marketplace, arrived today. I did a quick study to compare to the Roadster, 2004 for the Sedan, 2019 for the Roadster, I will say the quality of the newer kit is much better. The Sedan has the original four banger engine and rear axle. I am surprised there are two frames in the Roadster kit, the blower version fits inside the fenders better, but I would rather do the other engine. I hope the hood fits over the V8, and I can run the exhaust inside because I don't want the header pipe outside. I really like the mags on the Roadster, so going that route, it won't be important to exactly match the real car. It will be interesting to see how much of the Roadster I can keep to qualify for the class.
  12. ? Would make a good sleeper. This subject is something I would not normally buy. Only because of the GSL Common Kit theme, did I get via Fakebook Marketplace.

  14. Drama.... that sums it up very well. ? Thank you! Futzed with the engine this afternoon. First thing I tried to do was get the resin radiator flat, put in very hot water, it bent nicely, but about an hour later it was back to "normal". It will be forced flat when glued in! I had to put some sort of engine mounts in, could not rely on the transaxle. After making three sets, got good enough mounts (arrow). The next part to see if it didn't fit was the exhaust downpipe with what looks like a catalytic converter. Of course it interferes with the suspension sub frame (arrow). I really gooped in some Tacky glue to get the engine/transaxle set in place. There are several other parts such as a battery to fit, with some sort of mounts. Debating how to deal with the other suspension cross member, the exhaust pipe could be replaced with a solder wire to re-route, or I could just blow that part off. Went for something easy. The roof rack needed mounts, could not just stick it on the roof. Measured and marked with masking tape, scribed deeper grooves, cut aluminum flashing, and glued on. After painting will add photo-etch bolts.
  15. Have that kit in the stash, will look forward to watching it get built! Looking great so far.
  16. Cool sighting!
  17. I did a technique, for the first time, using a clay for crafts. I now see that I didn't do a WIP for this diorama, Grand Canyon Roadster. I can elaborate if you want.
  18. Apologies, forgot that I had posted this before, DUH. Here is the WIP: Auto Union C - Vanderbilt Cup 1937. Finished model: 1937 AUTO UNION C type - Vanderbilt Cup Race by FPPMODELOS
