  1. Thanks for posting this in my recent topic! Love your details.
  2. I swear that I searched before starting this topic, appreciate you posting! *edit* DUH, I posted on your finished topic. ? Thank you. Inboard disk brakes.
  3. I never got into slot cars, Hot Wheels to a point (don't remind me of collector $). Thanks on my Porndy.
  4. Lovely car, great job on the finish! Are there lights for the #, but not the front?
  5. from splattered superglue
  6. All I'm daring to say, is that Arizona is a different world than everywhere else. My downtown was bustling with people, highways are crowded, in fact the I-17 had a miles long traffic jam. Lake Havasu is crowded with boaters. Have fun everyone else.
  7. I have both of those, built the slot car version with a *few* changes. I thought the later version looked good enough, but now you are saying it's got issues, don't think I'll build it.
  8. More butchering of a perfectly good kit..... worked on the back. A spare part from the previous project, the Toyota Celexus had a custom taillight panel that is almost perfect, don't need to worry about taillights and bumper! Mocked up with wood and more cardboard, cut the frame end off, will make a simple frame that will fit the fuel tank. Cut the back of the body off with the hot-wire, where the radius started, added 18MM cardboard. Also refining the rear of the roof partition, first thing will be a stout brace, then filling in the roof contours while keeping that character line needs evaluation. The trunk covered the back, so need to consider keeping the curve up at the center, which follows the roof, or make it straight across. Whatever, will need to add the character line here too. Have to think ahead about how a tailgate will come down, and not hit the bumper. The bumper ends will need to be extended. Thinking about sweeping the tail end of the fender back a little. I'm trying to not rush this stage, I like to sleep on such projects, come back with a fresh view, sometimes I think of a part somewhere that needs to be found and tested. I looked at how to make gearing and driveshaft to the front axle, and if a torsion bar spring would be better than coil or transverse leaf (the 170V has two transverse leaf springs). What would AMG do? ?
  9. Great paint finish and color. Is the wood a decal?
  10. I never do that. ? Oh great, another detail I didn't notice. ? Many of us are hot to build the latest kit, get it, then for some reason...... and decades later they are rare collectible and get looked at, then put back. Talking about research, if I dare to put an engine in, need to know what the transaxle looks like. But I am more likely to do a resto-rod.
  11. Thanks. That isn't on this forum, correct? You can build it before me. One reason I started this thread was to bring out anyone who has, such as Alex.
  12. Thanks for the picture. My kit has drawings for the box art. I got photo-etch hood latches, also have p-e wire & aluminum rim wheel set, but undecided about the wheels. I'm just thinking out loud on this one.
  13. Detail Master is what I have used.
  14. Wait... nobody has built this kit? It's been calling me from the stash, "build me, I'm an easy curbside, don't even think about putting an engine, transaxle, suspension in because you'll never finish." I searched and found nothing.
  15. I'm old enough to remember this being new, and surpassing Ferrari and Lamborghini for my dream car. The cool thing, when Pagani was a kid, he built models. Do wish a kit would be done, all there are is diecast.
  16. Cool results from a dog kit, and you finished it! Fun thing about models, can do what would be sacrilege in real life.
  17. Technically not on the road, but the car club I'm in had a secret private member's only CV19 Cruise at the Clubhouse.
  18. Is it just me and my area, finding Model Master 'flat black' paint in stock, is like looking for TP. Is it the same for other brands, and other countries?
  19. I know right? ? Liking what you are doing, will refer to this if I ever get around to building mine.
  20. No way can I lower the hood/radiator, will need all that space for turbo setup. The belt line will be evaluated as I go, there are now two accent lines to choose from. Cut apart the roof to section, after measuring and drawing out the basic size of the body. Taped together with cardboard filler, about 11MM wider. Also made the roof a little longer, for the limo look. The rear looks like the MB engineers were on meth, designed by committee. Not using the trunk or that tacked on frame, thinking of extending the frame rails, perhaps straight back, with a proper bumper. The body will be extended back, a tailgate will be cut in. The gas tank will suffice. Will figure out how to plumb two turbochargers, with intercoolers. Air filters will be something interesting, need to research Me109 Tropic air intakes, seems like I could do something better than Ricer conical filters. These Hobby Design turbos are nice parts, with turbines inside that will never be seen. Want to keep the iconic exhaust pipes that are like what Cord and Duesenberg had, using guitar string. Expect to completely open this side of the hood. I also need to be smart about running the driveshaft on the other side of the engine.
