  1. Superb build Rich. The attention to detail really make it special. The photos look really nice too.
  2. Well done Ray on creating this really significant Cobra, especially as seen and raced in Europe.
  3. I have not clear coated the Corvette. I just painted it with 3 coats of Tamiya Italian Red spray.
  4. Thanks to all for your comments. It means a lot for this old modeler.
  5. Truly remarkable what you able to do to fix the warpage. What kit is it, wait I saw Revell in the tag. Did you have to add the poseable front wheels?
  6. Impressive build indeed. Those are some wild fenders.
  7. Who makes the Willys Jeep? Wish they did one in a smaller scale.
  8. Great score on the Ferraris Ron. You can find all sorts of decals for them on eBay with a vendor in Spain called Le Mans Decals and a choice of scales.
  9. Very cool builds for a hot day. Thanks for sharing these.
  10. I would really like to see your racing C3s Phil.
  11. Thanks to all for your very kind comments. It was a very challenging project with all the decals and having to scourer the parts boxes for the pieces.
  12. Art, the tires are Fujimi GT40 and the wheels are from a Monogram Owens Corning Corvette kit with a rim added for the rear wheels for more width.
  13. 1968 Corvette L88 Le Mans In 1968 the Swiss Scuderia Filipinetti entered two Corvettes at Le Mans. This 1/24 model is my attempt to replicate the #3 car. The Model: Otaki 1/24 kit. Chosen because of the scale and the flared rear fenders. The hood scoop was wrong and had to be replaced with a new hood from a Revell kit. The wheels and tires were replaced and bumpers had to be found front and rear. The decals are from V-R-M. The paint is Tamiya Italian Red spray TS-08.
  14. Oh now that is a real beauty! Very tempting.
  15. I have not seen 1/24 diecasts at CVS in our area. It was a real thrill to see the new Diecast every two weeks in Rite Aid but they went out of business in our area.
  16. The wheels were castings from one of the Indy car kits, I think. The top and the wheels predated Norm and Brads efforts.
  17. Another option is to carve a form, it is a simple shape, and do a heat and smash. That's what I did for the Le Mans top.
  18. Very clean and well done build. Thanks for sharing it with us.
  19. I am very impressed and like it a lot.
  20. I think Steelers43 Fotki site has captured just about all the photos that I have and have been posted here and elsewhere. The History of CSX 2001 is fascinating having been assembled in the Ed Hugus shop in Pittsburg and sold to a Dr. in Pennsylvania and then sold to Europe for racing. After many body changes it ended up with Bruce Meyers in CA and restored though not in its original shape. Wait I did find this photo in my files not in Fotki and might be useful for front end detail.
  21. Very nice no cost conversion into something quite presentable. Thank you for the link to the LeMans slot car reference photos.
  22. Oh that is sharp. Well done.
