  1. Whoa.... very nice find! I, too used to play with those train set my youth years. My grandfather had a collection of them. Wished I still had them after my grandmother passed away in ‘95. My grandfather passed away in ‘80.
  2. Oooo.... definitely the Tamiya Karmann Ghia. A classic indeed!
  3. Watched Red Baron on freevee channel on Roku last night. Great movie if you like WW1 related movies. The flight scenes are phenomenal.
  4. Just heard the news on MSN. A shock. Didn’t know she was battling cancer. My wife was shocked when I told her the news. https://www.msn.com/en-us/entertainment/entertainment-celebrity/kirstie-alley-dead-at-71-john-travolta-jamie-lee-curtis-kristin-chenoweth-and-more-pay-tribute/ar-AA14WVfX?li=BBnb2gh
  5. Not a reissue but I’d love to see The Old Pro Chevy Nova kit add more optional parts and decals to build either as The Old Pro and Novacaine
  6. I got scams emails all time and I delete them all the time. How do I know it’s a scam? Knowing it’s either you won a gift card from yadda yadda yadda, a package is ready for delivery, email similar to what you received, etc... The holidays are ripe for these types of scams. If you don’t recognize the email - even a misspelling is your biggest clue. Just delete them, don’t open it. Be vigilant in your email! I would never bother checking a FB page after that incident. Oh yeah.... that’s why I will never open a FB account. I have zero desire to open one. I’ve got better things to do than check a FB page.... like spending time with family and on the bench building kits.
  7. I use Rustoleum brand flat, satin, and gloss clearcoat in the rattlecan.
  8. Looks like a fun little kit. Clever addition too!
  9. AIn’t that the truth....
  10. Wow... nick pick much? Relax. Not everybody is perfect. Who cares if it was posted in the wrong thread. I hate folks who micro manages everything that goes on here. I have zero patience to deal with BS from people like you.
  11. Wow.... if it were me, I’d tell that manager I wasn’t talking to him. And since he claimed he “doesn’t know” if any new kits are coming in and you saw the stock shipment paper, I’d would have taken a look at that order form. But... after being satisfied with my findings, I would have asked that manager for his name, thank him for the sh***y attitude toward a customer and definitely let him know I will be reporting him HIS boss of the company for being rude. Most likely he may not take it seriously nor care. “Watch me...” would be my final parting shot at him. Give him a reason to get nervous on the threat. Why? Because the customer is always right and I can and will file a complaint against him. Not the first time I’ve dealt with managers with crappy attitudes.
  12. Here’s a strange one regarding the ‘56 Bel Air kit from Ollie’s. Noticed the Ollie’s price sticker is UNDERNEATH the shrink wrap - not on top of the shrink wrap cellophane....
  13. Interesting findings of this investigation. Now that I had a better understanding of what happened, I don’t fault the pilot of the P-63 anymore. The air boss is 100% the blame. I am curious on how much experience this air boss has under his belt. Thanks for posting this, Ace.
  14. Stopped by Ollie’s this afternoon. Took me awhile to find the kits. They weren’t in the toys aisle nor the where the other toys displays for Christmas are usually placed. Found them near the arts & crafts section .... which made no sense. They had the Snap kits and quite a few Monogram ‘56 Chevy kits as advertised. They are the reissued kits from the original light blue version from Monogram. I also noticed there were. couple airplane Snap kits (SR-71 Blackbird & F-14 Tomcat) Grabbed the ‘56 Chevy kit.
  15. Hmmm.... may have to make a side trip one night this week. If they have the ‘56, I’m so getting it. LOL!
  16. Metal and plastic. Yeah there’s a difference. Similar process. Well no ****. I can read. He was asking an autobody question on a model car forum. Similar but different process. Autobody work is more involved than on a simple model kit. But hey... each to his own. Let him take your advice. I could care less. Debate or ridicule me all you want but I would never offer advice for fixing his paint job on his 1:1 truck. Just sayin’...
  17. I’ll bite…. Pineapple Princess Luau Cha Cha Cha Boogie Bear
  18. This forum is a model car forum, not a 1:1 forum topic. You have to go elsewhere to ask this question since this involves bodywork painting on your personal truck, not a model kit.
  19. YouTube video I saw used thinner, not acetone. I mostly use lacquer thinner myself for most of my airbrushing needs.
  20. What company did you order it from?
  21. I just watched a video late last night on YouTube on airbrushing nail polish. They come in enamels and lacquers. One point they pointed out you need a bigger needle to airbrush metallic nail polish. Definitely something I’d consider doing on my future auto kits.
  22. Time to tell the wife to stop enabling your adult children. Cut the cords and let them learn to how adult. I always like to tell my son this whenever he starts up....I brought you into this world, I’ll kick you out!
