Days of Thunder Revisited.
BlackSheep214 replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
While I never saw Days of Thunder because of the horrible reviews back then, watch Trading Paint on Netflix. Pretty good if you like super modified dirt track racing. -
Well it’s finally announced.?

You keep telling yourself that. Time to stop drinking the Kool-Aid and take off those rose colored glasses. Reality bites just remember that. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.....?? -

Imagine a world of EV automobiles - a sure fire way to experience world wide brown outs. The Green backers and politicians has no say so what can be banned. Who says the ordinary middle class can afford all these electric automobiles when the starting price is around 50k and up? I certainly can’t afford it. I wouldn’t even trust buying used EV knowing I’ll get stuck with replacing the batteries that cost more than the car or worth. Screw that. In all honesty, I don’t see how these automakers can push the EV agenda knowing the average Joe can’t afford them. That will be their biggest downfall and go broke when nobody is buying electric vehicles come 2035. I even read EV are vulnerable while being charged by hackers. Don't believe me? https://www.autoserviceworld.com/ev-chargers-vulnerable-to-hacking/ If they simply push for hybrid vehicles, I’m all for it. While were here talking about electric vehicles, how about those electric lawnmowers and snowblowers? Both are crappy outdoor equipments. Had an electric lawnmower and hated it. Took a sledgehammer to it after one summer season and bought a gas powered lawnmower. Electric snowblowers wouldn’t be able to handle throwing heavy wet snow in wintertime. All pure POS.... -

Sure, sure... let me how those EV work in sub degree temps in Canadian winters. You’re screwed, pal.... ROFLMAO! Next thing you know, they’ll have electric car charger stations that will charge you waaaaaaaay more than gasoline prices. Good luck with affording that. Even if you have your personal charging station in your own home and garage, I’d hate to see what your electric bill will be. LOLOLOL!!!!! -
I’ve seen the display at my local Post office. Have been toying the idea of getting a sheet myself.

Testor's paint
BlackSheep214 replied to GLMFAA1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That’s cool! The last pic.... is the lid screwed on crooked or is it the glass bottle. Never knew AMT had paint. I love the color description.... Violet Fireflake & Green Fireflake. I assume they’re metallic colors. -
Oh yeah.... the Allison/Merlin engine do sound waaaaay better than a Chevy big block in a real P-51 Mustang. Amazing engineering & craftsmanship indeed for a 70% scale ”airplane” Up to a point. Read the article again. It’s NOT a full size P-51 Mustang but a 70% scale aircraft with a Chevy big block. But hey, who says cars can’t fly. LOL! When I saw the video, I knew it wasn’t a full size P-51 Mustang. The small size was a give away. He still has to get a pilot license regardless to fly it. It would be cool to see one at an air show though.

Cute pups. I prefer King Charles Cavalier Spaniels and don’t regret them. My first was a tricolor - they’re known as Princes; my current is a Black and Tan - they’re known as Kings . I do have a soft spot for German Shepherds but the missus don’t want a big dog. As a kid, there was a full grown male neighborhood wanderer German Shepherd, named Sparky from his collar who befriended me, my sister and a couple neighborhood kids. Always waited at the bus stop in the morning and after school. Whenever some neighborhood bully had an urge to start with me, guess who’s in front and center protecting me. Oh yeah, he was a big boy. Loved the dog even though he wasn’t mine. One day, I never saw him again. I still wonder to this day what happened to him.

If you have Netflix, watch Trainwreck: Woodstock ‘99. Even though, Rome is only 10-15 minutes from my home and remember it but didn’t attend it. Never knew the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH that went on during those 3 days. A total opposite of the original Woodstock in ‘69. Michael Lang and the other clown are total idiots.

The modem and router crapped the bed. Had no wi-fI, Internet, or phone. Called my cable provider tech support and told me to exchange for a new ones. Drove across town got replacement modem and router. Got home and set everything up. Still no phone, wi fI, or internet. Another phone call to tech support. They told us they have to be activated and run updates remotely. Wut????? Once that’s done, we’re all good!

Heh... I still have one bottle of Pactra Gloss Blue enamel. Still good too! LOL! It’s always funny to watch two idiots go at it in a bidding war in an eBay auction. -
Sad news,Anne Heche died after fiery car crash
BlackSheep214 replied to NYLIBUD's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
She was a hot mess throughout her life. Abusive family life, drugs, alcohol.... She did it to herself since she was driving under the influence of drugs (cocaine) and ran from an earlier hit and run incident prior to her fiery crash. It's a wonder the folks survived a near miss when she crashed through a house. Sad. -
That Postal General DeJoy is a total moron. Not only he has already raised postage stamps rates, he wants to lay-off 50,000 Postal workers. A majority of them are eligible for retirement. He should offer them an incentive to retire before laying off thousands of postal workers not of retirement age. How hard is that for him to figure out? Nah... he’s just too stupid to use his head to figure things out to save money. His plan is the wrong way to go about it.

God, no! I never understood the reasoning for those 20 inch rims. They’re the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen.

Molotow Chrome Pens at Hobby Lobby
BlackSheep214 replied to DanR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Old news since HL always carried Molotov chrome pen. -
They also carry Gunze Gundam colors too. No surprise since they do carry Gundam kits. I’ve picked up their white and used it to paint headers. Something different than regular white.

Because there are no more hobby shops nowadays. A lot of them have closed due to retirement or economic reasons. In my area, we used to have at least 4 or 5 hobby shops. The last one closed down due to owner retirement in the early 2010s Now there are none in my area. The closest one is an hour’s drive west to Syracuse. Hobby Lobby has the same old same old stock so I stop going there. Not worth the trip anymore. You’d think HL would substitute the loss of Model Master with Tamiya or Humbrol. I guess the need isn’t there since they carry Createx and small Testors enamel bottles.

There is a house that went up for sale for about 3 months before they took it off the market. Asking price? $300k. Way overpriced for the neighborhood I live in. Guess either the realtor or the owners suggested that starting price. Don’t get me wrong, the house is nice but could use some updating (bathroom and kitchen). I guess folks thought they were gonna get some interests. Housing prices have been ridiculous as of late. I got our first home for $68k in 1998. Have done a few home improvements over the years -remodeled both bathrooms, and a major kitchen reno, new furnace (will get central air next year), new electrical wiring/circuit breaker box, new fences, windows, basement mold removal, etc... you know the typical stuff most folks do over the years of home ownership.

Drought is an understatement where I live Temps in the 80s and 90s with high humidity, throw in a t-storm only makes things even worse with a lingering, sticky humidity. Don't get me wrong, I love summers but I hate the humidity.
