The Official EBay Discussion Thread
BlackSheep214 replied to iamsuperdan's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hmmm... I don’t ever recall seeing a Tom Daniels 1/12 scale Mean Maverick Funny Car Kit in the 70s as a kid. It’s possible I never noticed seeing it on the shelves. Cool kit though. -
Here's what I find hard to believe. He walked away without being killed.

Idiot motorcyclists doing wheelies on the highway. Extremely dangerous and an accident waiting to happen. Guess what? One did happen last night in the Town of Webb. https://www.wktv.com/news/motorcyclist-crashes-into-suv-after-performing-wheelie-police-say/article_aee9abd6-fa83-11ec-b987-d7c2fa81ea13.html You can’t fix stupid.....

Almost got in an accident and damn near lost the pizza to the floor of my car. Idiot pulled out at the last second (and he knew it too) making a wide right turn out of a Big Lots parking lot then getting in my lane. Mind you, the traffic light was no more than 500 feet from where he pulled out in front of me. Guy stopped his car in front of me as if he thinks I'm at fault and opens his car door to confront me. Screw him. I ain't time to deal with his rage so i went around him. Oh, he decides he needed to make a right turn at that light after all. Entitled folks in a hurry for what during a rush hour....

Hobby Lobby no longer honor the 40% coupon on model kits. Hasn't advertised it in quite a long time now.

You do know everything they film is fake, right? So who cares. LOL!

Let’s not forget the idiots that pet service dogs without the owner’s consent. That is plain rude. Yeah, I’ve been seeing folks bringing dogs in Walmart. Lowe’s, Home Depot, Petsmart, & Bass Pro Shops allow dogs in their stores.

Returning Sprues
BlackSheep214 replied to Jim B's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hmmm...an interesting idea but I usually save good length of sprues for stretching sprues for various reasons .... rigging wire for ship kits, attenna wires for aircrafts, paint stirrers, etc.... -
Not an irk from me but my son. He currently has an internship with the NYDOT as inspector on a striping crew. An accident involved 2 SUVs caused by another driver who cut in front of the first car getting on the exit; causing her to break hard and get rear ended by another vehicle behind her. The reckless driver who was in a hurry didn’t bother to stop or oblivious that he/she caused the accident. All this happened in a work zone with signs everywhere. Some folks have zero regards in slowing down in work zones. Always in a hurry for what?

Thrift stores, antique stores, consignment shops, garage sales are good places to find kits... IF you get lucky. Great find indeed.

Ain’t that the truth. Not model car related but I’d love to get the recent 1/32 scale HKM Lancaster bomber kit. This kit is a beast with at least a 4 foot wingspan when completed. Not to mention finding a spot to display it when completed. https://www.scalehobbyist.com/catagories/Model_Aircraft/lancaster-mk-i-s-sugar/HKM00001E10/product.php?s=0&t=0&u=2&micr=194&pg=1&ppp=48&sb=stocknumber_a&so=d&era=0,6 Even at $300 is expensive for my budget.

Nobody wants to work anymore. They’re getting paid more from collecting unemployment than their actual paycheck when they were working. I see panhandlers everyday. With the time they spend getting handouts, they could have spent that time job hunting. Everybody is always looking for help. Minimum wage is $15/hour, some places are higher. So what’s the problem? Everybody is lazy is what’s the problem nowadays.

Yup. Those are spams. I get them all the time. Even from Norton and McAffee sending me warnings my subscription has expired and your computer may be at risk, blah, blah, blah.... Baloney! I know when my subscription expires and I had just renewed it back in April of this year.

What hood is this? (Real car, two pics)
BlackSheep214 replied to LDO's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That’s my guess too. The shape is all too familiar. -
Looks similar to the old Smithsonian engine kit of years past. However, there is one cheaper. I found it on Pinterest. Heres the link to the working engine kit. A great price too. https://www.venbrew.com/products/?last-day-discount?-teaching-v8-mechanical-metal-diy-assembly-full-metal-car-engine-model?scm=spz.search&ssp=spz&spm=..search.search_1.1&pp=0&epik=dj0yJnU9a0JhSVV6UFNqNExjWUlVRFNqVzlyd3Jwalp5TEs3cmsmcD0xJm49TzNURmNvS2Z0WHZIZkFnamFudHh0USZ0PUFBQUFBR0t6djlj

Round 2/AMT 1977 Pinto - Super Loser (out of box)
BlackSheep214 replied to Faust's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Speaking of which... look what Scalehobbyist has out: https://www.scalehobbyist.com/catagories/Model_Cars/ford-c600-us-mail-truck-w-usps-trailer/AMT00001326/product.php?s=0&pg=1&ppp=48&sb=stocknumber_a&so=d&pr=1 -
I finally saw the Rivian in my area. I gotta tell you.... it’s ugly as..... hmmm.... Fugly is a better word to describe it. The LED headlights on them are annoying as **** and enough to blind you - even in daylight. The headlights is basically a circle outline shape, not like typical headlights on cars today. I can’t imagine the cost in replacing those should one go out.

Round 2/AMT 1977 Pinto - Super Loser (out of box)
BlackSheep214 replied to Faust's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Hmmm....I don’t recall ever seeing a USPS Pinto growing up in the 70s. We had those dinky little jeeps with steering wheel on the right side delivering mail in our area. LOL! -
If it’s styrene, who cares? The old Monogram bomber kits were 1/72 and those are massive built up. I’ve done the B-52 and the B-36 as a kid. I am hoping to see the recent 1/48 scale Lancaster kit by HK Models at Syrcon someday. Seen one for sale at Syrcon last year and who knows if someone bought it yet. That’s a big bird in her own right.
