  1. This...^^^^^^^^^
  2. Yeah... just saw that.
  3. Finished the yard clean up from the winter mess it left behind. Warm weather finally arrived to stay.
  4. Very nice! I did that sub kit way back when I was a kid. I wouldn’t mind finding another one for old times sake to reminisce my youth years.
  5. I have this kit in my stash. Bought from a fellow SPAM forum member couple years ago because I wanted another go at it. I may swap the body and interior tub from another AMT ‘57 Chevy kit in my stash.
  6. How I hated kits with opening doors and trucks. Hated them as a kid in the late 70s hate them now. I’ll pass on it.
  7. I could care less whether it's wrong or wonky. I don't worry about accuracies in auto than I do with aircraft kits. I did the SSlasher kit and loved it. Heck,,, I wanted the Red Alert kit that I wished I had bought back then. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a duck. ?
  8. I know right? You’d think they would put out a reissue Chevelle Kit by now. MPC and AMT had ‘72 Chevelle kits.
  9. Good luck with that. I’ve been looking for the old MPC SSlasher Chevelle Kit. Even Red Alert Chevelle are going for stupid money.... if you can find one.
  10. I had two. The first was my very first car I owned given to me by my grandparents as a commuter car for college- 1964 Dodge Dart, slant 6, push button automatic straight up stock. Didn’t last a month til a piece of rusted frame fell off on the highway. I was sad to give it up. A side note - I was constantly being challenged at traffic lights by idiots yet I managed to beat them all. LOL! My second favorite was a 2003 Toyota Matrix. Man, how I loved that car. Fun to drive too. Wife got in an accident with it due to other driver’s fault. Car ended up being totaled.
  11. Fun times seeing those vintage muscle car photos. A classmate of mine who lived down the street from my house growing up owned a ‘68 GTO. Drove it school daily except during winter. I helped a neighbor kid customized the interior of a late 70 Chevy van. I was rewarded for free rides home from high school during his senior year ( I was a junior then). He had a wicked sound system installed too. A couple folks from my time working at JC Penny’s. A fellow employee owned a gold ‘70 Camaro - loved that car Later years still working at JC Penny, a future boss owned a gorgeous ‘74 Nova SS. Told him I would buy his car if he decides to part with it. He ended up giving his nephew the 350 high performance engine for his car. By then, I owned a ‘78 Monte Carlo. Nothing special except I put on Cragar rims on Dunlop GT Qualifiers. It was equipped with a pitiful 305 cu engine until it blew up on me. Had a 350 put in as replacement.
  12. Carbide Micro Drill Bits at Harbor Freight for $7.99.
  13. Furniture shopping at Pottery Barn with the missus. I hate Pottery Barn because everything in that store are overpriced. Oh yeah...the missus knows how much I hate that store. LOL!
  14. I fondly remember building the High Roller Camaro kit. Fun times.
  15. Hmmm... that’s a hard one. ‘75 Chevy Monza because the passenger door didn’t shut right and front end was welded on wrong I later found out. A desperate impulse buy to use for college transportation. Did own a used ‘92 Topaz. What a POS. The final straw when brakes failed on me at a local mall. Ditched it right after that because I didn’t want to put any more money for repairs.
  16. We got about 5 - 6 inches of wet snow! Mother Nature... go home. You’re drunk. We’ve had enough of snow and this is ridiculous for late April. Tomorrow temps are hitting up in the mid 50s with sunshine.
  17. Save your money on those crappy ultrasonic cleaners. They’re for folks too lazy to properly clean airbrushes the right way.
  18. I, too, dip decals in hot - not warm water for a few seconds then take it out and let it sit on a plate or whatever. I use both MicroSet and MicroSol with great success. If you think Revell decals are garbage, look at Tamiya decals. They’re notoriously known to be on the thick side.
  19. I airbrush using both acrylics and enamels alike. I never, ever thin acrylics with water. I don’t feel confident with acrylics thinned with water that will give me enough bite to adhere to primer. However, DO NOT use acrylic primer. They’re garbage. I use Rustoleum brand primer from a rattle can. With warmer weather soon upon us, I’ll spray primer outdoors on dry days. Heck, I’ll even let it dry outdoors under the sun. This way there’s no worries of toxic smells from enamel paints. As someone already mentioned, practice airbrushing using a plastic spoon. Find that paint to thinner ratio that works for you. It’s all trial and error basically. I clean my airbrushes with lacquer or enamel thinner. Tamiya thinner works well for acrylics too. I’ve also heard of folks using Windex to thin acrylics too. Water may be okay for cleaning your airbrush but I honestly don’t feel water alone can give you that complete clean. Sometimes you need to use something stronger.
