I have 2 suggestions, 1. Try the old dry spray from a distance for texture and light sanding to knock down the high spots. OR... 2. Use unprimed lacquer crazing to your advantage. Mask off everything you don't want to have vinyl texture, and spray the lacquer paint to MAKE the texture you want. Paint the dash the correct color afterwards. Best wishes.

I like yours better, something about Foose's cars look too "trendy" to me. It's kinda like how dated Boyd's Chezoom, Cadzilla and Alumacoupe look these days - Very 80s!

Try using the wires from the 62 Tbird at least they LOOK like Kelsey/Hayes wheels!

I remember being a kid and buying these Revell kits because they said "real rubber tires" on the box. I thought "cool, rubber tires, just like the real thing!" Novelty wore off when those same tires dry rotted and cracked up a few years later, and nothing else fit those small rims. I did like the Capri kit much better than their Mustang. Those flared fenders were all wrong for the Mustang and the rest of the kit was just ? anyway, so there was no reason to build one. I am jonesing to do a conversion of a Capri body, bashed with the interior and chassis of an MPC Mustang for a nicer replica. Maybe someday. I like yours, though. Nice job!

Great idea showing 2 brands from the same year. Gives a good visual of what buyers had to choose from back in 53. I kinda like the Ford design better, it looks a little sleeker than the Chevy. And I like Chevy's!

It may be that it was never finished, but I've also seen similar lumps and flaws on the insides of hidden parts. To me they look like flow channels put on the tooling to help the injection of the molten plastic to go into smaller areas or the deepest and farthest points away from where it began in the tool.

Perfect choice for the yellow paint. Classy without being too flashy or "Hot Rod". Fits the theme of this car. May I suggest yellow and white for the interior? Or a muted tan or saddle. But not black, this ain't no muscle car!

I like the wheel, would make great stock hubcaps on something. Kinda looks like a 70s Thunderbird wheel. How many did it come with? As for the car - well, if you can't say something nice... Check underneath, if it had/has a trunk area, it was a 40 Ford coupe, if it didn't - 39/40 sedan. My bet it was the coupe. That rear end would have been really hacked to make that fastback from a sedan.

How about the roof from the 59 El Camino as a base?

Wow, that tire really did a number on the wheel. I would not EVER use those tires on any kit parts again!

She's got a good eye for factory colors, looks like a close match to "Aztec Bronze" available that year. Keep her around as your color consultant!
