  1. Visual difference between 66 389ci and 67 400ci 66 389 67 400
  2. It's actually a well detailed kit, with separate frame, steerable wheels and optional turbocharged engine. Various issues also had 4x4 suspension. Doesn't look like that's included in this issue, though.
  3. Love this kit. Just needs skinnier tires.
  4. Next release should be the "Get Smart" Opel. Companion to the Get Smart Sunbeam Tiger. (Hint-Hint!)
  5. Wow, this is definitely a labor of love!
  6. Don't forget the interior pattern, grille mesh, rocker trim and engine are different. 67 was the first year of the 400 engine and has different valve covers and no tri-power.
  7. Hard to tell anymore, being a custom, but looks like it started out as a GM car, possibly a 53-54 Chevy and had Caddy bumperettes added to the front. Back was chopped off and a bed was added, using modified Chevy pickup fenders. Looks doable using readily available model kit parts. Are you inspired?
  8. Add my agreement to this. May I also suggest block sanding the primer smooth before paint. You'll be surprised how much texture there is in primer coats. Pros do this religiously and perfect the primer BEFORE ever even laying a coat of paint! I learned this after I had my car painted at a shop years ago. I did all my own body work and primer spotted it. When it came back, you could see the areas where the primer spots were. They were more textured than the rest. And "YES!", you need to use primer before using any Dupli-Color lacquer based paints!!!!
  9. Sounds like us here!
  10. I think you need to lay off the corn jug for a while. Jolly Sipper!!!
  11. Well done! Almost looks like the Fall Guy truck.
  12. Hard to believe that it started out as a toy! I wish they'd make more realistic toys like this nowadays, but I guess licensing has taken the motivation away from toy manufacturers. "Why pay for an expensive licensing agreement when we can freelance our own ideas. Besides, kids won't know the difference."
  13. Never color sand metallics before clear coating, the metal flakes invariably scratch and the clear just locks it in place.
  14. I thought the Pro Stock was done after the stock annual run. I assumed the stock tool was permanently modified into this configuration, never to be returned. I'd like to be wrong.
  15. Looks like you got one of the early issue kits with the rub-on transfer decals. I built one back in the day with those blasted decals and they fought me every bit of the way. I would suggest you save yourself much grief and apply those to a blank, clear water slide decal sheet before you install them on the truck. You'll thank me later! It also appears that you shortened the frame to match the real truck. If you could, please tell us where you made the cut?
  16. Here you go. Now get to cuttin'
  17. Fab-U-Lus color choice!
  18. All the mods he's doing can also apply to other model kits. Glad he's doing a pictorial.
  19. Just sit back and let us admire the work! ? I for one know how tricky those Revell trucks are to complete and your final result is worth admiring. The AMT, while not as difficult, is just a blast to build. And your use of the custom parts just makes it more unique. Too bad you sold them, but they must've been appreciated by others you sold them to.
  20. Looks excellent! Johan reissue?
  21. Beautiful!
