Welcome to the forums Timothy. Great start on your project. It looks like you are taking a very methodical approach to the layout of your frame and cage. They look excellent!👍 -
This forum and YT are a great source of information no doubt. There are also many gifted model builders out there who have never watched a video or visited a forum. They learn by….experience.

My Rusty Junker Project – Pontiac GTO

Wow, it looks like someone stripped it down to bare metal prior to paint….then abandoned it. -
Now that’s got some ATTITUDE!😎 Nice work so far.👍

It definitely looks better with the wheels centered under the fenders.👍 What is that device that the driveshaft is sitting on?

That is why I meticulously read and adhere to the instructions at all stages.🙄 BTW, It’s looking REALLY great Bill.

radiator core & top construction - how to?

Thanks for the tip on these pins. I’ve been looking for small diameter pins for turn signal levers etc. The smallest I found at the fabric stores measure 0.021” diameter, or 1/2” in 1:1 scale. I see the #1 pins are 0.0126” or 5/16” in 1:1 scale. -
Both of your interiors look great Simo.👍 For what it’s worth, I thought your original paint job and foil work looked great too…except for the hood maybe. Foil work can be tedious and even frustrating, but it looks the best in my eye.

I may be wrong but…that’s what I was thinking that I would do if I ever get one of these kits. The aerodynamic duvall windshield just begs for the car to be in the weeds. JMO.😈 If the rad being tight to the belts bothers you, you could add a sliver of Evergreen to the front or rear edge of the hood and move the rad forward slightly. The work you have done is coming along nicely though Jim.😎

Paint looks pretty slick Bob!👍😎

Scary movies I have generally found to be unrealistic and not very appealing, and yet I find sci-fi movies very entertaining.

It looks good. My question is how durable is it, and can it be cleared with (something?) with little or no loss of appearance?

Interesting question. I would think that this style would be ok for anything from the 40’s up into the 90’s maybe. The earlier years would not have the pressure relief? button in the center, so that could be eliminated. I’m not sure what years the button was, or if it ever was a factory thing? I build mostly 30’s to 70’s and want an easy, consistent way to replace the generic lump that is provided on some kits. Maybe someone here can shed some more light on years that wouldn’t use this style?

“Back to the Future” features a DeLorean as the star car, but I would rather have Doc Brown’s 1949 Packard.

Don’t drive down any gravel roads for a while.😬 -
I think I got a dollar a week? Then on Saturday, I would go pester mom while she was grocery shopping and she would pay me to go away. When that was done she would go join dad in the pub for a bit and I would go peer at them through the window in the vendor till they paid me off again. I spent that mostly on pop and comic books…Superman, Batman, Spiderman, RichieRich, Two Gun Kid are some that I recall. Later when I started working at 13 and earning my own money, I started buying models, a cassette player, Hot Rod and Popular Hot Rodding magazines, and I don’t recall what all else….Then a ‘67 Falcon. Edit:There were chores that needed to be done to earn the initial dollar. My first paying job at 13 was cleaning the barn and driving tractor for a nearby farmer. Some of that money I spent on bicycles and parts. I asked for something odd, like a spoke threader maybe? at the local hardware store, and the owner offered me a job assembling bikes. I worked there part time after school and full time in summer, plus evenings as a projectionist at the theatre until I graduated high school.

Chopped top 34 Ford

Cool!😎 I picked up a previously started kit also a while back. I chopped it and set it aside to be tackled in the near future. -
Anyone need inspiration?

It’s not all THAT bad…a little beefier than it needs to be for sure. I’ve seen a lot uglier, stupider mods.😳 -
