  1. You really have to wonder WTH is going on inside some peoples heads to think that monstrosity is pleasing in any way! And yet it looks like it was done by somebody with some skills, not just a 5 gallon pail of bondo and a trowel.
  2. Thanks. Yes, this one comes with the two engines, different wheels and tires, an optional custom grill and my decals are different again. What kind of glue is best for these two-piece tires...or do the halves even get glued?
  3. That looks like it will. It is not exactly the same, but close enough to figure everything out. The Hot Rod kit also has an optional supercharged 421 Pontiac engine, but I am missing one cylinder head at least for it. Thanks a million!
  4. Does anyone know where I could get a set of assembly instructions for this kit? I'll wing it if I have to, but there are a lot of small parts!
  5. Absolutely Beautiful Peter! Is the script on the hood and tail fins done with gold BMF or painted?
  6. That looking darn nice! I remember my Mother telling us as kids about a 1:1 car that my Dad made into a truck. She would always start giggling when describing it. I don't imagine it looked any where near as good as yours does.
  7. Well maybe they stole it! I first heard it in Gumball Rally. I guess I will have to start researching my memories before I offer them up! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjGXn249Fc0
  8. You are correct Sir! Gumball Rally, where Raul Jullia said "the first thing about Italian racing is what's behind you is not important" and then rips out the rear view mirror out of the Ferrari. Great movie.
  9. To quote a driver in "Cannon Ball Run"..."What's behind you is not important!"
  10. There should be no duty on it if it was a USA made item. Brokerage fee is something that UPS always tried to charge me, but I would notify them as soon as I had a tracking number to "hold at depot, buyer will do brokerage". Then would go there, pick up the paperwork and take it to the local customs office and pay the GST. When I show UPS that the taxes are paid they release the shipment. This worked well for me because I could leave work anytime and all were in the same area. For vendors that offer free shipping to the lower 48 states, I would get it shipped to a parcel service just across the border and go pick it up from there. Greg

    Winter's work

That one is a Revell "skips fiesta drive-in series". I painted it Testors blazing black extreme laquer and wet look clear out of the can. When I started it, I thought it was going to be the worst of the bunch. Turns out I like it the best. I never realized how freakishly small the headlights on the AMT are until I put them side by side! Thanks for the comments All !
  12. Super nice job on this! I just bought this kit and you've given me something to aspire to.
  13. Excellent work! And I like your "build it how I wanna build it" ethos.
  14. Excellent job!

    Winter's work

The grey one in the middle is an older AMT kit.
  16. Well I finally finished these three. I don't know what I'll tackle next, but it won't be a Corvette!
  17. This one is done also.
  18. I am calling this one done. Sometimes it's hard to describe the effort one must go through to mount a simple windshield without the use of expletives, but let me say it challenged me greatly! Very little definition of any mounting surfaces or keys! Anyways, here it is, I am putting it on the shelf and never touching it again!
  19. I am not really up on my engines, but I will take a wild stab. A forklift of some type?
  20. Right now I am just folding up the box tops and pressing them flat to save space. I could likely chuck them, but I know myself, and I know I would wish I didn't sometime in the future!
  21. Any old busted chunk of 1:1 tail light lens plastic could be shaped and sanded to size for the tail lights also... or a red taillight repair kit from Napa?? Any other sources for thin transparent red plastic?

    47 Chevy

Very nice! Do the doors and trunk open? If not, your panel lines are really well done!
  23. I have never experienced this...but I will check all my cans. I can see why that would cause it to stop working, but causing a leak?? Maybe it's good idea to shake all the cans once or twice a year?
  24. Fabulous work on that engine and interior! Love it!
