  1. I ran across this while surfing. It comes in all sorts of colors but I have no idea if it is suitable or not? Has anyone tried any of it? https://www.megahobby.com/products/mohair-brown-kens-kustom-fuzzi-fur.html
  2. I paint mine to match the interior also. I even made sun-visors for this '65 chevy from wire, an old gift card and masking tape. It depends on my mood how far I will go.
  3. That's what I did for my 'cuda because it didn't want to line up perfectly either. I figure if you open the hood you want to see the engine and carbs better anyway. Mine doesn't open, it is either on or off. Nice job on saving the Challenger!
  4. Well my plates showed up today, so now it is actually finished (except for putting the Hemi hood back on) !
  5. Wow! And I get frustrated when two parts don't it perfect. Nice job so far.

    Cool! Posi-trac!
  7. I was looking at that thinking WOW this looks real. The following pics look pretty darn real too! Good job!
  8. Very nice! I like it.
  9. Thanks! It's done now and under glass. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/142990-70-hemi-cuda/
  10. Really nice! I love the paint job!
  11. Yes, thanks for the tip about the quarter windows in my trim scriber thread! I have a couple coats of clear on top of the decals and BMF but I am OK with it the way it is. Next one will be better...I promise! Thanks all for the compliments.
  12. I am calling this one done! I'm not really happy with the clear coat, it would not go on smooth. I decided to leave it alone though rather than trying to polish it. Knowing me, I would wind up ruining the decals and BMF.
  13. Most drill press chucks would not hold a small enough bit for distributor wires. A pin vise could be chucked in the drill press chuck though. Also, any drill press I have used has had too much "wobble" in it to do that fine of work, especially if you compound any inaccuracies of the press and the pin vise?
  14. Fabulous job on that engine...and the whole thing!
  15. A good pair of scissors and a soda can?? I have never made them, but have been tempted to try this.
  16. Are you wanting a highway tractor or a 1/2 ton? The only truck I've built is a Revell '65 Chevy stepside...nice kit.
  17. Looking GREAT! I love that color combo.
  18. If you do the site:modelcarsmag.com subject search on google it can dig up some pretty old threads also.
  19. Nice work on the door! Strange coincidence...I was walking the dog this morning and found an 8" piece of that stuff just lying on the sidewalk. Hmmm, what to do with it?
  20. COOL!
  21. Thanks for all the tips everyone. I did paint them and although I didn't try any of the highlighting techniques, they do look better than plain plastic. Obvious seams where the seatbacks join are one of my pet peeves also.
  22. Really fine work! I love watching the body-work-sculpting going on.
  23. Thanks for the tip. I am more of a "work with what I've got" (read cheap) kind of builder. I put a touch of turn signal amber on the backs of the kit lens and put them in the only nice soft jawed clamps I have to dry in the dehydrator with some other parts. Well the clamps managed to crack both lens! So I made a reasonable replacement set (I think) out of Bondic. I little touch of future on the outside will help to clear them up a bit maybe?
  24. I detailed the wheels to look as close to factory as I could. I clear coated the body with Createx 5620, sanded with #3000 and applied the decals and foil and re-coated with more 5620. I was hoping that the second round of clear would go on smoother than the first...It didn't. I was thinking that I would have to sand again and then clear it with something else, but I think I will leave it alone rather than risk ruining it completely. I did manage to sand through the paint a bit on the hood edges so I will have to touch it up and re-clear that. Lessons learned for the next one. The roof has one coat of Tamiya XF-86 flat clear
  25. It didn't pop up as an option...but here it is, Good on him! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzUWJDQw3F4
