  1. Could you transfer the pattern to some wide masking tape and use the tape itself as the pattern? The tape may help the mesh to keep its shape while trimming. I usually photo copy the pattern before cutting it out so that I have spares.
  2. Recommended assembly procedures dictated by the instruction sheet should be taken only as suggestions.
  3. Definitely good Jim!? I would be satisfied with that stance.?
  4. Really, I’d like to open every one of my kits and glue the engine halves together.
  5. I polished my ‘49 Merc with Tamiya coarse, fine, and finish compounds. I’m not 100% sure which Mr.Hobby clear I used though, it may have been the UV Cut since the paint is lacquer. You could spray some of the Premium on a spoon or junk body to see how your polish affects it.
  6. Well the AMT version is a little worse than the real one.? And it wouldn’t take much of a shift to get rid of the tail heavy look.?
  7. Improved over box stock would describe my builds generally.
  8. I’ve always thought that Ford should have stretched the wheelbase on the ‘57 T-Bird. It kind of looks like an altered in my eye.
  9. Beautifully done Bernard!? Kudos!?
  10. Beautiful looking Belvedere! Superb work all around.???
  11. Very nice, super clean build!??
  12. Interior looks fantastic!? lots of nice detailing.?
  13. I’ve been playing around with the front end now. I lengthened the grill shell back to stockish height since I need to move it out in front of the crossmember and lower it anyways and added some mounting pegs. That meant I either had to eliminate the hood or lengthen it…so I lengthened it. Now the hood hid the injector stacks too much, so I made some longer ones and cut some slots in the hood for clearance. Thanks for lookin’.?
  14. Your picture is a bit blurry, but I don’t see any overspray? Are you referring to these spots where maybe the paint leaked under the masking tape? If so, I have used a sharp hobby knife to very very lightly scrape it off. A fine sanding stick may work too with a delicate touch. If it is in fact overspray, then maybe a wet sanding and then polishing would work.
  15. Performance enhancing drugs might be needed for me to achieve some of the fantastic creations I’ve seen here.
  16. For drilling tiny holes from #61-80, my preference is the spring loaded push drill on the right. Micro Mark sells them I believe. For larger holes I like the manual pin vise, or my cordless drill. I have a micro chuck with three collets that I can also mount in my cordless drill or even my drill press.
  17. Anything goes in this hobby, from stock to mild to wild.
  18. Great…I have a ‘66 Riviera and it just moved up in the queue.?
  19. Karate engines can be bought through the dealership…oops, that should be “crate.”
  20. That looks real cool Carl!? I have the Monogram version so I hope you do a build thread on this project…I will definitely follow along.?
  21. Yeah, I should have been more clear. I was actually thinking subject matter rather than date of issue. Newer tooled kits should be better than older kits…but that is certainly not always the case.
  22. Cool looking Kit Jim!? Is the electric shaver included??
