I was told years ago to use the generic, no-name DOT 3 brake fluid and not the name brand stuff. No reason was given. But, I’ve stuck with it. Been using the same tub of the stuff for two years. When it gets gunky I strain it thru a fine mesh strainer, clean my rectangular Rubbermaid container, lather, rinse, repeat.... I’ve yet to run across any paint or kit chrome that it won’t strip. I won’t swear that it’ll make any difference on your parts, but I figure it’s worth two pennies. Best of luck getting that paint off. Looking forward to hearing what does get it stripped. It’s always good to have a contingency plan.

Got in a good, peaceful, quiet 4-5 hours in at the bench today. I recently started an AMT ‘71 Duster project. I managed to make a lot of progress on the body-prep front (scribing, sanding, etc). I even got the .040 half round in place and dressed up for vinyl roof trim. This is my first attempt at adding a vinyl roof and I’m pretty doggone happy with how the trim turned out. This build will also mark my first attempt at spraying Scalefinishes enamel through my airbrush. I had hoped to do some test runs of it on a spare body that I have primed with Tamiya primer. Alas, high humidity and pop-up T-storms put the kibosh on those plans.

Very cool garage! I’ve been following along. I just recently started construction of my own garage. I’ll certainly be borrowing several of your ideas. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I haven’t accomplished squat at the bench in a few days. Just wanted to take a moment to voice how much I enjoy reading this topic. It has become a daily must-read. Catching up on everyone’s progress is interesting and serves as a great motivational tool to get my butt to the bench, even if just for a few minutes of “me time.” Kudos to Snake45 for launching this thread. ?

Outstanding in every way. You nailed the execution of an extremely well thought out build plan. I really dig those bumpers too! -
One of my all-time favorite kits. Well done!

So nicely done. Smooth and clean. Great color choice too.

Beautiful paint work. Love the overall look of this one.

I sprayed Duplicolor Inferno Red over Tamiya pink primer on this “Little Red Wagon” build and was thoroughly impressed with how the two worked together. Prior to going full-bore, I did test it on the stock engine cover from the very same Lindberg kit because I knew I wouldn’t be using it in the build. I try to stay away from mixing manufacturers paint/primer/clear, so this is the only example I can produce as evidence that Tamiya primer and Duplicolor paint can coexist on styrene.

Awesome looking winged warrior!

Wow, Anders! Your builds never disappoint! This is just stunning. Great color choice, as usual.

Very sleek! Nicely built. Great work with the mill swap.

Beautiful. I love the monochromatic look when it’s done well- like this. The wheel treatment is terrific. Gotta love happy accidents. If this is an example of “diminished” skills then we should all be so lucky some day. Super classy deuce!

Moebius Dodge pickup in the works?
BeakDoc replied to leafsprings's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I also think late 40s early 50s Power Wagons would be a gold mine. The possibilities are bountiful. M-37, Field Ambulance, Dpt. of Forestry/ranch truck/civilian versions that could include parts trees with appropriately themed hand and PTO driven tools and decals. Even a SEMA-esque custom version with a Cummins Turbo Diesel would be cool. -
Moebius Dodge pickup in the works?

With you 1000%, Bucky. My first vehicle was a ‘71 D-100. It was a retired Virginia DOT truck. My dad bought it in 1981 for $300. It sat on blocks in a man’s yard that was on his route to work. He named it Herman. I bought it from my dad in ‘91 when I got my license. Most of the time when I read the following words on the forum I think it’s hyperbole, but I would literally buy a case of them. -
Moebius kit. The paint is Tamiya Light Sand Metallic/MM Wet Look clear on the outside. Tamiya Pure Red over pink primer in places and gray primer in others on the inside. Trim is BMF. Other than the embossing powder carpet and plug wires she’s box stock. Thanks for looking.

You should be happy with that one. Very nice. I love seeing those older kits built up in such fine fashion. Great job on the lenses and gauge faces. Every build I tell myself I’m gonna do that, yet, I never do.

Very nicely done. It could pass for the real thing if there were a small puddle of transmission fluid beneath it ?

Gorgeous model. Fantastic color selection inside and out. Nicely detailed and clean. I have a soft spot for those ‘66 and ‘67 Chargers.

I’ll certainly check out their site. Thanks.
