Really like this model!! The few I have seen built are very impressive to me. This one is no exception! This will definitely be my next model purchase!

Compare and Contrast - a second variation on a similar theme

Very cool '36 Tim! I really like the color and the engine! It reminds me of my '40 that I built several years ago. Yours is a lot cleaner and neater though! -
They'll work. It takes some patience and setting solution though.

Why is this in the Under Glass section? ? -

They want to make money. Not lose money. Not hard to figure out.

The most promising thing I see is that it's being 3D scanned. That made all of the difference in the Foose pickup and Cadillac.

Something else to consider getting is a pair of small hemostats. They work much better than tweezers. You have to careful and not squeeze them too tightly or else you'll damage the paint. I usually put tape over the teeth to prevent that issue. There's also some that automatically squeeze. But, I always have an issue getting them to release without knocking the part loose. They work great for holding small parts to detail or paint. -
Very cool model Alan! There's something about bringing an old model back to life! I really like the small changes you made. Especially the conversion to RHD. Nice work!

I usually don't like bubble top customs. But, I really like this! So often customizers overdo a car and make it unrecognizable. This is still recognizable as a '57 Ford. The paintwork puts the icing on the cake! Excellent work!

All-new: 1974 Road Runner E58 360 Full Detail Replica of a real 1/1

Super nice looking Road Runner Tim!! You sure made this old kit look better than it should! Excellent work! -
That's a good looking Chevelle Randy! I like the different color!
-
Nice blending of the bodies! It has a very "natural" look to it. You could say that it's an AWD. It kinda looks like something that would be a competitor to the Nissan Skyline.

Rims/Tires.. Scale & what to use ?
Plowboy replied to msg4gsm's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
You're asking for the impossible. How could anyone expect an aftermarket wheel maker to list the kits that a given wheel will fit on? As my dad always said, "If it won't work, make it work." -
1960 Ford F-100

I now have a good pile of painted parts. We'll see if I can glue them together and make them look like something. The body has been cleared and sanded smooth ready to be polished. I'll start with the chassis and work my way up. I'm not going to glue the wheels on as I don't think they're going to make the cut. I'm ordering a set of Pegasus Shueys and a set of Hollis for it to see what they'll look like. I can't wait to start getting the engine pieces together to see what it's going to look like! It's all from the Lightning kit except for the headers that I nabbed from a Mach III Mustang. -
I built this a few years ago. It's a $5 toy I picked up at Walmart. I started by gutting the toy chassis and electronics. I made a plate chassis out of .040 styrene. I shaved the body and added a rear rolled pan. Then, I covered it with Tamiya Gold, drew and cut my masks and shot Tamiya Metallic Orange and clear over it. Pegasus 23" T's and disc brakes finish it off. Thanx for checking it out!

1/24 source for these Momo 17” 4-lug wheels?
Plowboy replied to Matt T.'s topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I would check Aoshima wheels first. They have several four lug wheel sets. -

I wonder how long it will be before the SA forum is also absorbed by FSM? They might as well as the SA forum is pretty much dead. -
I would strip them, paint with Tamiya Gold and the do the face of them with a silver Sharpie. The center cap and lug nuts could be done with a Molotow pen.

Thanx! I spend a lot of time on that one aspect. It always pays off in the end. Thanx! This one had glue burn on the bed floor also. Most of what was in the front got cut away. The rest had to repaired. Soon after a fresh paint job is not the time to break out a Dremel with a router bit! But, it had to be done to allow clearance for the headlight reflectors. I had enough for the original plan. But, that plan got changed. I cut reflectors from a set of custom Lucas headlights. All four had to be cut apart, modified and reshaped to look more like an actual reflector. I also opened the slots in the upper grille bar. I have a lot of time in this grille! In one way, I'd like to know how much time I do have in it. In another, I probably don't want to know. -
62 F100 Prostreet
Plowboy replied to Lorne's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
This model checks all of the boxes! Unibody Ford, check. Pro street, check. Perfect stance, check. Killer paint, check. Awesome detail, check. Minus points on the Chevy pieces, kidding! I actually like the Chevy dash. It gives the interior a completely different look. Excellent work! -
Thanx Tim! For me, the body work was the easy part. It was narrowing the front track 4 mms that was a pain. The axle and every related part had to be narrowed. Plus, I glued the X member together, cut it loose from the frame, drilled the holes so they were round and glued it back to the frame. I did more work on the chassis than I did on the body!
