  1. Looks really nice. I wasn't on the forum in 2019 so would have missed this, nice to see older threads resurrected.
  2. Yeah, don't go! You were one of the first to greet me on the forum a couple months back and you always comment on my builds. I have lots of new builds coming, are you not entertained? haha. Seriously though, health issues suck balls, my cousin has a muscle disease and can't move without excruciating pain, it's horrible to see, closing yourself off from the world only adds to the pain. My thoughts are with you, man, they really are.
  3. Need a licence to watch live TV in the UK, I haven't paid that for nearly ten years. TV was rubbish than, I have no idea how bad it is now! Everything I watch is through apps on my games console. The History Channel is like MTV, they don't do music anymore!
  4. I didn't know about the '75 Ventura. The Mag wheels were a good choice then, haha. Title now edited to 1979 Nova! No idea why I put 1978? I think a lot of the cars I've been Googling are from 1978. I was close to doing a sleeper using the steels and caps from the '70 Galaxie 500 but I only have one and couldn't be bothered to cast them today.
  5. Looking really good!
  6. Yes, it's very close. I think that's one of the pictures I was looking at on Google. I can't find it now but there was another picture, same colour as this one but with a vinyl roof, that I'm basing it on. Surprisingly hard to find any pictures of these cars with vinyl roofs.
  7. Thanks for the link. I didn't know what they were called in the States, Magnum 500, now I know. I just called them what I've always known them as over here. My favourite wheel actually, though a set of Cosmic alloys comes very close.
  8. Vinyl roof already done and a quick mock up of what it'll look like. The colour I'm going with is Aztec Bronze.
  9. Rostyle, not Rally. The Olds 442 wheel design is called Rostyle in the UK. Vinyl roofs are easy. The seam line is done with high build primer after laying down two strips of masking tape with a gap between. I then peel the tape off leaving a raised line of primer. I then paint the whole roof in the colour I want by holding the can a good three feet away so that the aerosol almost dries before it hits the roof, leaving a texture. I'll either give it a slightly heavier once over at the end or polish it to remove the dusty look this method gives.
  10. I agree, nice to see one not red, or yellow for that matter. The silver suits it very well.
  11. Nice. Unusual colour combo for an interior but I like it.
  12. Man, that's nice! The paint really shines, and I love those Rally wheels. They look so right on this.
  13. The only real changes I'll be making to this is a set of Rostyle wheels from the '66 Olds 442 and a vinyl roof.
  14. While I'm waiting for the paint to arrive for my Pontiac Grand Slam I've started on this 1979 Chevy Nova Squad Rod. I certainly won't be building the toy that's on the box art, I'll be doing factory stock with a vinyl roof and some aftermarket Rostyle wheels. Going through the contents the kit looks to be very well moulded with basically no flash or seam lines. The chrome pieces look very well done and the interior is nicely moulded with good detail in the dashboard and some very nice looking bucket seats. Another kit it would seem where the box art doesn't do the contents justice.
  15. Great story. I bet you were, are proud as punch to see your builds on the boxes. Fingers crossed you come across some others you built.
  16. Nice work. Got to be the oldest vehicle based kit on the forum?
  17. Very nice. I love the early 70's Mustangs.
  18. Coming together nicely. I enjoyed building the earlier release of this so much I bought another one! I'm thinking of champagne gold with off white roof next.
  19. A feature I just noticed is the windscreen pillar guards, or wind deflectors. Some cars seem to have them and others don't.
  20. Very nice. That's a serious looking Pinto!
  21. I've built the Lindberg version of this. Nice kit.
  22. It's gut wrenching loosing a pet that you're close to, words can't describe. We lost our collie cross "Buffy" after 17 years, 1999-2016. Not being there in the room when she went might not be a bad thing mind. When the vet gave the injection to our girl I was holding her so tight saying it's ok, she looked right up at me and give a whimper as if she knew what was happening. I'll never forget that for as long as I live, I can still see that look she give me just before she fell asleep. I have tears in my eyes as I write this, so I know how it feels, man. Thoughts are with you.
  23. A dream I often get, and have had for years, is of an incoming nuclear bomb. I can only remember parts of it but it starts with the sound of the siren and I'm running around looking for my family but I can never find them, there's a huge flash and I'm trying to scream but my lips feel glued shut and cant get it out, I'm usually kicked awake by my girlfriend at that point telling me to shut up!
  24. The Pirelli model, that's the one with the special Pirelli alloys?
  25. That's great! Very creative.
