  1. Interior tub and dash details are done, I may do the carpet in a darker colour but doesn't look too bad as it is. I've also finished painting the car, hopefully I'll have it up in the completed cars section later:)
  2. That's pretty cool. The Lego wheels work well.
  3. wow, that's super nice! Very clean build.
  4. Thanks. ahh, it could be better. I tried some chrome foiling on the doors which looks kind of wrinkled and my 1mm Molotow pen broke so had to use the 2mm which is a bit too fat for some of the trim in there.
  5. Nicely done.
  6. Very 80's! I love the cassette tapes on the back seat.
  7. Nice. I used to see one of these in yellow riding around town years ago. Sharp looking car.
  8. Beautiful build! Nice work on the paint.
  9. Thanks. The little trophy car was a right pain in the *** to do, lol.
  10. Nicely detailed! Very nice.
  11. It's pretty good. I may do a chassis swap in the future and open up the hood. I think the hardest part would be fitting a firewall, there's no vent panel between the window and the hood.
  12. Got the chassis painted up last night. Not bad for a snaptite kit, it's pretty well detailed.
  13. Lol, a block of Lego has more detail! Still, it's more than I got in the Snaptite kit I'm working on.
  14. Stunning, Nice work, man!
  15. Looking really nice! I've always liked the XJS. Used to see them everywhere, then they just disappeared almost over night.
  16. I saw the same kit on ebay a few weeks back, very unusual kit. Look forward to seeing progress on this.
  17. That looks like the exact colour I'm using. I'm still undecided whether to do that side feature though.
  18. Yep, from a mk1 1.8 SDL They are always sun damaged, the brown ones more so than the black for some reason.
  19. On researching colours of the Monte Carlo I found that the bumper/grill filler piece is body colour, which is all one part on the model. A bit of a pain to mask up but if I don't do it it'll bug me later when I'm looking at it, Lol!
  20. Thanks, Dave. I'll give it a go, I have some matte clear coat I can try. I used it on a dashboard restoration for a customer a couple of years back.
  21. Thanks, Rob. I shall indeed try. I was very close to doing this model in gold with brown roof. Motel room on wheels is about right, most American cars before the 80's are bigger than my first flat! (apartment)
  22. I bought a set of headlight trims for my car a few years ago, the guy just wrapped a small piece of parcel tape around one end to keep them together and stuck the address label on the tape!
  23. Yes, I appreciate your insight, it does help. As I was leaning towards beige anyway I think that's the colour I'll be going with. Based on that and the info you provided I think I'll do the roof in a shade close to the body colour. I'd like there to be a bit of a contrast between them.
  24. I like that. Reminds me of the Plymouth Valiant in the movie "Duel"
  25. Yes, I've been scrolling through Google Images, the roof being only half covered makes it stands out. Probably why the roof was usually the same colour as the body like you mentioned. Here's a couple of pictures of what I'm thinking of going with..
