  1. I was/am more into the street/custom vans, but you did a great job on this one. Looks sooo authentic, the detailing sets it off. Keep on Truckin
  2. Thanks David, the two tone is the most recent and is result of the many things I've seen and learned from all of you on the forum. Many thanks to all of you.
  3. Nice van, the color really makes the chrome stand out. Really like what you did with the front end/hood venting, great job.
  4. Always liked this car, wished I could have one. Your build is beautifully done and looks great.
  5. Congratulations and a salute to Tyler for his service from a US Army (Ret) Vet.
  6. Thank you all for looking and taking the time to leave feedback. It was a lot of fun adding small extra details.
  7. IMHO your detail work is awesome, especially the undercarriage and interior.
  8. Turned out well, caught my attention.
  9. Very good looking and well executed, especially for 1st attempt on the vinyl roof.
  10. Good choice for the wheels, looks pretty good.
  11. As usual, you built another beautiful outstanding vehicle. You keep inspiring me. The detail is awesome.
  12. I thought my AMT 62 looked good, yours looks way better. Very clean, and excellently detailed. Especially like the engine compartment. The Revelle looks like a better kit,and you did it justice!!
  13. Thanks for you comment and interest, here a extra pics of front & rear. I have some wip shots if you wanted to see what was done.
  14. Both seats actually do swivel, I used some wheel parts to make the bases. I don't remember what block I used on the sedan. I was experimenting with the paint, trying to get a ghost effect on the scallops, wished I had done a better job on the masking make them thinner. Sharp eye, didn't realize the flip on the rear bumper. Appreciate that you think it looks good.
  15. Many thanks to all of you for looking and taking the time to comment. Appreciation by others who do the work and recognize what's involved in the hobby adds so much to my enjoyment and keeps me wanting to learn and become better. Thank you all again.
  16. I got the Gold Rush Dodge van kit and will build it without the extreme body panels, so I wanted to see what could be done using those parts on a pickup body. Looked at various kits for ideas and decided the 68 Dodge kit would be easiest to do. Making it into a tow truck with custom show look seemed like a good idea, I posted a request for wrecker boom on the forum and thanks to Paul P. He had one that would fit my vision of the build. I searched emergency lights and found an AMT parts kit that had nice set of bars with the amber lens. I also found a wrecker sling kit by Checker & Wreckers. Luckily the old decals (in the colors I wanted) were still good. One of the hardest decisions I had was what color to use I I went with this This a quick review of the build First time trying to open the grill from the back, turned out pretty well. Added armrest panel and moved the pedals which looked way to close. Used embossing powder for carpet and foam rubber for ceiling panel. Here's the results of this fun build, hope you see something you like. Thanks for looking, questions and comments welcome.
  17. This series is about the interior part of the build. The kit seats don't match the interior pattern (diamond button) so I used the rear seat to make my own and a back door panel from 1/20 Ford kit to make a bed. The interior will be red & light grey with flocked carpet. Decided to make a hot tub for the bed area. The fun part was doing the buttons (luv my toothpics). Worked on the interior while painting the body and the engine. I welcome any questions or comments.
  18. Got this 82 Dodge Bad Company kit off ebay, the paint was a mess. Soaked in purple pond for several days to get it clean. Wanted to do something different than my other vans. The idea of the Lil Red Wagon came to mind, but not a drag van, something a vanner would have. What to do with the open bed area? While figuring that out, need to get started. After cutting the roof just behind the front cargo door, should it be crew cab or longer. I decided to use the short bed, extended cab had to do quite a bit of filling and add reinforcement underside of roof This after the main body work is done and first primer and mock-up. Also filled second cargo door hinge/lines Used back door panel from another kit to create matching panel under rear window and removed center post to single window. Added strips on open bed sides/rear doors. Also opened roof window. Made a few mods to the chassis to lower stance and accept the new wheels. Added heavy coil springs to beef up for the extra load. Opened the hood and made the hinge, I used 18ga aluminum wire for my hinges, easy to work with and adjust if needed. More to come.
  19. My first car was a 57, so I have a soft spot when it comes that model. Maybe that's why there's 3 in my collection; the first is a rebuild from years ago that is a customized version, the second is the Fireball Roberts kit that is built to be a street rod, and the third is mostly a stock version. I've seen many on the forum and enjoyed everyone's work. Thanks for looking and comments welcome.
  20. Very beautiful build of one of my favorite cars. Excellent in every aspect. Kudos to you, Lee.
  21. Thanks for sharing, the top looks very good and you did an excellent job. I wonder if you can paint over it to get different color, if you airbrush in thin coats. Makes me want to try your technique.
  22. Another interesting project. Thanks for the tip about using old markers as a paint brush, would make lettering easier.
  23. Great build from custom the details to the beautiful paint. IMHO you built a show quality vehicle.
  24. Really like the paint scheme and admire the engine detailing, which must have taken a great deal of time. The overall effect must have turned heads.
  25. Beautifully built hot rod. Always impressed by the guys who kit bash to get something different.
