  1. I'd like to see some pics of your build either in WIP or underglass. Been curious about resin bodies, what are some differences when building vs plastic? Glad you found something you want to use on yours, that's a high complement. Thanks
  2. Very nice. Really like the color choices and the paint job is great. Good job on the interior, and you're right about the added seats, good match. Also like the other van & truck. Great idea on the roof windows, look real.
  3. Nicely done classic, well done on the chrome and detailing.
  4. Another nice and imaginative build. Always watch the videos you put together and enjoy them (and the soundtracks you add). Have you ever heard The Ventures music?
  5. I really appreciate all of you looking at and taking the time to leave compliments on my builds. I've learned a lot and become a better modeler through this forum and the work you guys show here. Thank all of you!
  6. Glad everyone seems to like the grille adaptation, it was almost a perfect fit. Only had to trim the turn signal and sand a little off the outer edge of the headlight bezel, then sand the inner edge of the grille opening.
  7. Thanks Trevor and Jim, appreciate the comments.
  8. Here's some pictures from my scrapbook of the original 1:1 that I had back in the day. These were taken in 1980 on my way to Germany.
  9. Happy to stir up good memories, appreciate your comments. Did you want additional pics or more explanation on the sliding door? I'll gladly send you an email either way. Thanks for looking and your interest.
  10. Thanks for letting me know you like it, painting the wheels on the 1:1 was easy compared to doing them in scale.
  11. Appreciate your comment and glad you enjoyed the wip, thanks.
  12. Thank you, glad you like it. Yes I had many good times in it, too.
  13. Nice to see your completed van, it looks great. I can appreciate all the details; the military gear (especially the rolled beret), the opening side doors, and the surprise opened rear door windows (missed that in the WIP). The memories you recalled while working on this had to be part of the fun. Thanks for sharing.
  14. Hi Lee Looking very good, like the color choices you're using. Are you using an airbrush to paint the graphics? The paint job is excellent and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your build. Always enjoy seeing other vans. Lei
  15. I like the the idea of using my dremel, I'll have to try that. Haven't got the nerve to drill yet so I bush on Testor's A/B acrylic pearl white over the chrome, then put on Testor's clear adhesive. Here's my the latest example:
  16. Was working on three kits at the same time (I don't know how you guys do it) so I didn't finish them in 2022, : AMT 60 Falcon ranchero, started in October finished January and posted in the truck forum AMT 66 Fairlane GT, started November finished January shown here. I airbrushed craft acrylics on the interior and Testor's spray lacquer on the body and cleared with Future(still have some). I lowered it about 2mm and put in a 427 instead of the 390. My focus on this kit was trying for a good paint and clean detail and it turned out pretty well. Gunze Sangyo 66 VW Karmann Ghia, started December finished January shown here. This was built for someone who used to have one, but she wanted it in yellow instead of grn/white. The kit was well made, the instructions were pretty good except for the fender panels/interior connection. Surprise, most of the interior parts were soft rubber/vinyl but CA worked on them. The other interesting feature was that the roof and windows was one piece, so had to mask inside and outside to paint the top. Used craft acrylic paints on exterior/interior and hvac tape on chrome trim. Used some beauty rings on the wheels with the stock hubcaps. Thanks for looking, questions or comments welcome.
  17. This was a fun and nostalgic build, had to drag out the album to refresh the old mind on some details, which was like taking a vacation. Hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I did building it. Comments welcome. I'll post a couple of pics of the original 1:1 tomorrow. Thanks for looking.
  18. Really appreciate the comments from all of you. Thank you for looking and taking the time to respond; makes enjoyment of the hobby even more fulfilling.
  19. Seeing the many chassis, interior swaps done on here tempted me to try one. I used the Coke ranchero kit, parts from a 65 mustang, and from the 63 Mustang II kits, and part of a 57 Nomad roof/glass to create this (before I found out someone makes a resin body). I used craft acrylic paints through my airbrush and finished with Testor's clear coat. Thanks for looking and the inspiration from you guys. Comments/questions welcome.
  20. Got the engine bay trimmed out, except for the oil fill tube and the radiator wall parts. Tried some auto stripe tape for the exterior graphics, instead of masking and airbrushing. Tape kit was from Auto Zone, and worked out pretty well (probably better than I could have airbrushed at this time). The design mimics my old 1:1. That's all for the WIP, I'll post the finished pictures in the under glass forum. Thanks for looking, if you have questions or comments, let me know. As we used to say "Keep on truckin"
  21. Here's some updates on the interior: used dash set from Best Model Car Parts, used dullcote for the fabric on seats, speaker boxes made from stock with grilles by Detail Master. Ceiling is real wood. Tools under the bed from parts bin. I put CDs & cassette on the dog house. Used a spare tire and rim to fill the tire cover, which was lettered using a PenTouch gold pen (works well, dries fast, and is very durable).
  22. Nice job, glad you kept with it. Really like the decal assortment and placement.
  23. I really admire your painting skills, wish I could learn to use my airbrush to do fades. Any chance you could do a video? Welcome home, brother.
  24. Really like your idea, gives the plug & the boot. Thanks a bunch!
  25. I checked the 57 Bird kits in my stash and neither has a base for the trophy car or the T-Bird emblem. Steve's correct, the trophy car was in several different kits, but if you want a base I have a few different ones I could spare one. PM me your address if you want one. Lei
