Cool....I like the wheels on this baby. Like a cloud flying down the highway!

Interesting thought Patrick M., although, I don't care for sauerkraut on my hamburger. But I do like the idea of a mix up of a Mercedes 300SL and SLR McLaren...or maybe I should try a SLR Stirling Moss. Now you have me scheming. Thanks

Hi Snake; Donor Kits & Features o AMT 63 “split-window” Corvette Sting Ray Coupe (rear body & doors) o Monogram ’67 427 Corvette Convertible (chassis, front & rear suspensions, dash, front fenders/hood – tilt-up, side exhaust) o Revell 2015 Foose Corvette Stingray (engine, radiator, seats, console, steering wheel, side mirrors, wheels & tires)

Hello John; Well...good points, although the halo headlight buckets are slightly smaller than the stock flip arrangement and would likely let in a little more air, plus the big thermostatically controled "sucker" fan on the frontside of the 6.2L radiator should do the trick, or maybe a chin spoiler would scoop up more...if needed. Wish I had this baby in 1:1 scale to find out! Thanks for the kind words!!!

With so many fantastic production and famous race cars, the answer to the “what is my favorite Corvette” question is a tough one. Mine would have to have; the impractical but beautifully proportioned aft end of the ‘63 split-window Stingray, the hood bulge and side pipes of the ’67 427, a big V8 (6.2L in this case), and why not make the hood tilt-open and give it gullwing doors and halo headlights, just for fun. Keep the ’67 dash, add better seats, modern door panels, and update the center console. And it must ride on wide low-profile tires with giant disc brakes.

Well...I just ordered more in 1/87th....we will see!
-
Oh no...the pressure. Let me know...? fingers crossed!
-
Best of luck. I am pretty sure I used 1/87th scale...because I didn't want "big" diamond plate so I choose the smallest I could find.

Well....I'm still scratching my head on this too...sorry. After digging through my supplies I discovered it must have been a much smaller scale. I found a small piece of what I am pretty sure I used and compared it to a sheet of 1/48th still in it's packaging. 1/48 is close to twice the size. Therefore, I am pretty sure I used the 1/87th scale...which I found at https://www.scalehobbyist.com/catagories/Paint_and_Construction/ps-155-diamond-plate-ho-12-x-7/PLA00091687/product.php?kw=diamond,plate. I sure hope I am not steering you wrong plus I'd like to get another sheet or two. Best wishes...

Excellent work on my favorite car of all time! Stunning!!! Up until this moment I've been dreaming of building an iconic 1:1 in Guardsman Blue with White Le Mans stripes, but now reconsidering. However, reality is I still would need one more spot in my garage and one fewer wife!

Thank you. My pal runs period correct, but slightly larger than stock rubber, which are also included. Fun stuff!

After visiting an old pal, I gave him a replica of his 1971 Plymouth Duster as a "thank you" for his (and his better half's) hospitality. He bought the car through the govt. procurement program while serving in the Navy during Vietnam. After retirement he brought the car back up to snuff (including with a few non-factory, but all approved options). Today he drives the prized Duster to car shows all around the mid-west. This was my first attempt at opening doors (with proper "inside the fender" hinges) and trunk. The govt. issued dog tag is there as delivered, on the inside left fender next to the battery.

69 1/2 (?) Camaro concept - Pro-Touring experiment
Lobo2me replied to Claude Thibodeau's topic in Model Cars
Not always easy to turn those crazy ideas rolling around in one's wild imaginations into reality....your 69 1/2 (?) Camaro is - very cool, magnificent and the execution is perfect!!! Now you've pushed me to post my '63 /'67 Stingray Restomod. Not as technically precise or as good as your work, but it challenged me and made me a better modeler....and I am still learning. The creativity, freedom and fun I get out of this modeling passion is what keeps me going! Thanks for sharing... -
Have you tried https://www.plastruct.com/search?q=diamond+plate ?

Chopped the roof of a left-over Fiat Toppling approx. 4 scale inches, stretched the hood 6", reshaped wheel openings, scratch built the chassis, roll cage and coil over shocks, added a couple of wings and called it Plum Crazy
