  1. Very cool! Nice build....love the subject matter.
  2. Wow...very cool! Amazing creativity in a lot of those wild and wacky mind blowers!!!!
  3. Viper motor, chassis, power train & suspensions. XKE hood bulge, Speedster bumps, Batmobile windsheild and reshaped tail. Giant wing for serious drifting. Name - what a viper and jaguar have in common. Fun creation, but not wild about the wheels...at the moment.
  4. Wow...beautiful. A worthy tribute to your pal.
  5. As a follow-on to the "honor our veterans" theme I created a wild scratch-built Altered dragster named 12 O’clock High. I had a great time inventing unique items and including some nostalgic features - like the vintage looking WWII aircraft nose art, olive drab paint job with kills and bomb raid decals, a polished aluminum wing section with exposed rivets, replica 500 lb. bomb fuel tank and D-Day stripes. Thanks for looking... Donor Kits & Parts 62 Corvette – AMT 1:25 scale Body truncated at the firewall, narrowed approx. 10” scale inches at the tail end and pinched 14” just forward of the cockpit. Thanks David G. Three coats of Tamiya Bare Metal (TS12) silver. Scribed panel lines with the back side of an Xacto blade. Used a straight edge where I could and plastic label maker tape where I couldn't. Punched (pressed) the more than 500 rivet heads by hand with a 1.5mm hole punch. Washed it with Tamiya panel wash (black), then hit it with 3 coats of Tamiya Clear (TS13). I was very happy with how it turned out. I like to give them that rode hard and put away wet look with just enough grunge. All the best....
  11. Very cool barn find! Well done...
  12. I was lucky enough to have traveled extensively before retirement. On my first trip the China, friends and colleagues kept asking what sign I was. Just for fun I'd say I was a Corvette. As they scratched their heads, I explained that Chevy's first sports car and I were born the same year, 1953. I had to build this one. Honestly, I am a Snake.
  13. What to do with a left over Willys P/U cab, a top fuel chassis and a bunch other fun stuff...I'll be back!
  14. Very cool Tom. Really like the detail (down to the tranny) and great job on the weathering. So...a possible scenario to a follow-on.... Some years later. Funny car fiend Lobo2me (because he's nuts) bought this rode hard and put away wet Willys P/U from Tom to complete The Terminator....
  15. Thanks! Here you go... The Red Baron Build Sheet 06/2020 As a follow-on to Thunder Belle (a ’40 Ford Gasser built in 2018) and the more recent 12:00 O’clock High (a ‘62 Corvette Altered) and in keeping with the “nostalgic aircraft” theme, I created a crazy rear engine “flopper” I call Red Baron. This was by far the most diverse and creative kit-bash project I had ever attempted...so far! As an anti-hero to the two previous American Hero builds the name choice was a no-brainer playing off the origin of the 1963 23 Window VW Samba Bus, the Fokker DR1 top wing with Iron Cross decals for my Prussian ancestors.
