  1. He loved cars so much and it certainly rubbed off on me. I end up with my Pop's cars. 3 of my 4 cars I own now were my Pop's.....LOL My 88 5.0 Mustang was my Pop's that he bought from the original owner in the 90's. I bought it from him in 2002. And also my 99 Mustang......... Pop buys new. My nephew gets it next. Then I buy it from my nephew. Too bad I did not have the cash to buy my Pop's last car, 98 Mustang GT convertible.
  2. First car I drove was a 1977 Mercury Monarch 4-door. First car I owned was a 71 Super Beetle with "auto" stick. That Bug went through the family. Pop bought it from the original owner. Then I got it from him. Then Pop got it back after I bought my 68 Mustang coupe. Then my sister needed a car and bought it from Pop. Then she got another car and Pop got it back again. Finally left the family after Pop wanted a newer car. My Crown Vic has a crazy family passage as well. Pop buys from original owner. Then brother-in-law gets it. Then back to Pop. Then goes to my nephew. Then Pop gets it again. Then co-worker buys for son. Then I buy from my co-worker. I'm keeping it.
  3. I guess it would very easy to pass a driver's test in a self driving car.....? But then what do I need a driver's license for if the car is doing all the driving.....? Can it take itself to the mechanic ( sorry, computer tech).....?
  4. 1977 Mercury Monarch 4-door, dark blue, white vinyl top, 302 V8. My Pop took me on Sunday's to a close by industrial court. I was well prepared when I got to driver's Ed and drove a 1980 Buick Skylark, I remember it had the extra brake peddle on the passenger side for the instructor.
  5. Still to me one of the sexiest cars ever made........
  6. Looks like a nice buy. Good luck with her.
  7. Not sure how to check but there is a thing called "Idle Hours" that Crown Vic guys always want to know on their cop vics. I think one idle hour is equal to 25-30 miles of driving. I would for sure check the tension pulley for the s-belt. Also check the ignition coils for cracks. I belong to this site for Vics (mine is a non-cop 96), LOTS of info here........ https://www.crownvic.net/
  8. I just checked my 99 Mustang sticker price (my Pop bought it new) to today's dollars......$18,500 is now $29,400.
  9. Oh man.....Loved him. The original "Fun with Dick and Jane" is an all time favorite of mine.
  10. What a waste of a perfectly good Charger grill.
  11. Now that I would drive the wheels off..................!!!!
  12. Put new shoes on my yellow Pony. All 4 wheels/tires/ mounted-balanced/shipped for $668. Might get some black lugs and maybe a center running horse badge/sticker.
  13. MASSIVE Mustang fan here but I'd rather have a replica of Eleanor than that Foose Mach 1.......
  14. I'm a slot man..............or as I called them in high school.......Jelly Bean mags.
  15. O man......that's my go to paint. Guess I have to check the local hobby stores here and see if they have any.
  16. Take home a cat......
  17. Only mags I get now are Old Cars Weekly and Hemming's Classic Cars.
  18. Shelby...... and food bowl empty.....
  19. RIP........Such a fine actor. For some reason my favorite role of his was in the movie "The Star Chamber".
  20. Toyota Cell-ah-ka or Cell-lee-ka.....? BTW....I call all Porsche's "Poo-she's"
  21. They are slow but they are very under staffed. A friend of mine is a mail carrier and he said that more than 14,000 workers have been quarantined because of the virus.
  22. Thrift store find, $4.99. Complete.
  23. Here is my build of this one, the kit i bought was opened but not started and came with the resin teardrop hood. I want to redo all the trim in bare metal foil as I built this one before I learned how to use foil. And it sure does have that windshield lean.
  24. Sorry to hear of your loss. Thoughts and prayers. My Pop passed on Dec 3rd 2020. Crazy it's been a month already.
