  1. I agree, Bob. Even with the leaf spring excuse (I'm not saying it's the truth or acceptable, but it's reality as of now.), it's short-sighted to release this kit without a truck arm rear end option. As-is, it only allows for a box stock build. I want to build the Hawaiian Tropic #1. Tool up an optional setup, delay the release, and include it. I won't be buying this $40 kit if it has leaf springs only. I'll wait for a proper Monte Carlo. EDIT: Just saw this in a post on Randy Ayers Nascar board: Yes The chassis was [based] off of Richard Petty’s 78 Monte Carlo he used Leaf springs to use up the remaining parts from the Magnum. We will include the new rear end on the Monte Carlo with an extra set of rear end parts that will be interchangeable and an easy fix. So you can build the Oldsmobile with the Leaf springs remove them later and put on the new rear parts when the Monte Carlo is released. Thank you for your attention to detail it’s builders like you that help us to improve!
  2. If he is “Chrome Plus” in Quebec, he does beautiful work. Highly recommended.
  3. They are in the illustration on the box side panel artwork in the other thread. With the rebodied Magnum explanation, the chassis tool must be modular since I assume it will also be used for the two other upcoming GM kits (per licensing announcement), ‘77 - ‘80 Monte Carlo and maybe ‘74 - ‘76 Monte? We’ll see...
  4. Based on this and the teaser art above, looks like I made the right call unloading my Bandit Resins bodies earlier this winter. I’m looking forward to these GMs!

  7. Oh yeah! Nothing beats a ‘55 post gasser. (Except maybe a red ‘55 Coupe gasser.) Looking good. Nice work, Casey.
  8. My friend Dave asked our local Manager and he said their reset/clearance occurs this week. So, keep hope alive, and check your store again later this week!
  9. This ^^. Tamiya TS-15 over Tamiya gray primer is a very close match for hobby paint.
  10. Swing and a miss.

  17. Thank you for the photos/show report! The SF70H looks great. As do the 2000GT & Cosmos.
  18. Great news. I’ll be getting one.
  19. Monogram Early Iron release, molded in yellow and tan. Polished plastic for the yellow parts. Added some acrylic buff to the wood panel sections. Started in 2007, pulled out of mothballs last week and completed. Box stock except for Modelhaus mag wheels and Firestones. A fun build. More pictures here: Fotki Album
  20. I thought those were Powerslide decals. This is “the big thing” Mike was talking about on Randy’s board a few months back. Cool!
  21. Of the five shown, I like the Chevy.
  22. Interesting. Let’s see the parts.
