Here's my most recent $10 junk store find. FM 42 Chrysler T&C woody. Missing mirrors, one door handle, wiper, hood tampo scratched, but looks okay in my office. Because $10. No box or anything. He has a couple more I may go get for resale.

Wow. Took me a LOT of unfinished projects to realize I just don't have the focus to keep up with my imagination. Outstanding work.

Wow! At this point in my life that big of a stash makes me very anxious. I've been trying to a couple years to reduce my stash and built ups. I still have a couple hundred cars displayed at any given time, but am running out of room for new pieces and have to figure out what is displayed and what stays stored. And what gets sold. My model building area works well though for now. Actually have a dedicated area in storage building and a little countertop space in house where I can do basic work and small things in winter when it's too cold to go to storage building. Your new room looks good and good luck getting it finished up.

Looking very sinister.

Final interior pics. All the Krystal Kleer is dry and the interior is complete. I am amazed at the gauge decals in this one. And shift pattern for the shift knob. And the camera reall shows the imperfections... ugh. These photos are resized to upload better, but you can read every bit of the decals and shift knob.

PM me, I think I can find mine and can probably trade or sell, if you want. You need it more than I do. lol

I went to a "junk" shop yesterday. They had a 1/43 Classico Ferrari GP racer. I looked it up - 61 shark nose in box. I can probably get that car for a few bucks if any one is interested. Looks like it would be great with some standard detailing. I'm trying to limit to 1/24 25 now so I passed it up. Also a DM 49 Mercury missing a taillight lens and the gray Duesenberg SSJ that everyone has. But they are cheap enough that I'd be glad to go get them and send to you. Had several Jada's and some other Misc 1/24. Some 1/18 too. A Hot Wheels 300 Z car of some sort. Looked pretty nice. It's a new place to me and not far from house. He said he'd trade with me so I may try some unbuilt kits for diecasts.

I found a Franklin Mint 1948 Chrysler Town & Country yesterday for $10. It's missing parts of course. Mirrors, one door handle, a wiper. But I think it will clean up nicely and I can put on the shelf at my office. I have a 53 GMC (limited edition) that is missing a bumper but I'm not willing to part with it. I think I found a bumper that will work. The 55 Ford runs around $35 for reasonable examples. I have a pink/white, purple/white FMs and a black white DM. Which one you want? I might could part with the black white DM? PM me. Not sure I'm ready to go $20 though. Maybe. I also know where a couple other cars are that I can get you for $20 each if you're interested. PM me.

I bought a BUNCH of mint cars in the last year. As you have found, by watching you can find some really great pieces for cheap. Some of my best scores were 6 cars for $75 with shipping. Sold 5 of them for over $100 total and kept the ONE I wanted from the set. Dirty cars sell cheap. Can be cleaned and resold for better bucks. I have green and blue 36s. I have the 41. You got a better deal. Mine was $35 but no box. Broken cars are cheap too and if you can fix them... I got the white 53 Cadillac for $10 and had to fix the front wheels. Keep shopping and keep showing them off. This is one place where we all seem to apprieciate the mint cars, even though they've been out of production for a while.

Gary, I'm loving that Vette. I watched one of those for a while but never could come to a price with the seller. HAve to get one someday, especially after seeing these photos. That GTX is nice as well. Crown does some nice pieces. HAve to remove the ads but that's a non-issue to me.

Fake eBay "Special Discount" email -

I do that as well. I also have folks watch my items for months and never buy. My stuff is probably the cheapest on ebay and it sits and sits. My whole remaining collection probably won;t bring the $599 that one seller is asking. But ebay doesn't know. They just offer the seller the opportunity to send an offer. -
Good idea, nice cars.

I looked it up after I posted and see that. then remembered that I actually have built the Dart. And the figure is with it. In a display case in a box somewhere in my storage building. I also have the 68. Same story about in a case in a box in my building.

I have two MCs - the notchback in burgundy and the aero coupe in silver. And several parts kits for some reason. I built one in red at some point as well - why did Chevy never offer that car in bright red???
-
Good to know there may be a path to model building besides the way I came through - an uncle's models evolved into me wanting to build my own. Of course we didn't have as many legos and stuff "back in the day" Only three tv channels and walking uphill 5 miles in the snow both ways to school back then.... LOL

I do get notifications to send those "offers" to interested parties. I don't know how they determine interested parties. -
NICE! These kits look sooooo good when complete. Haven't seen a bad one yet.
-
I think the photo with the hood stripes is a Mustang or something... Check the C pillars on right of photo. Nice interior on that one!
-
Nice! I have that kit - just haven't been able to bring myself to actually build it. A girl up the street from me had a green one back in the day. If I didn't have so many things to be done, I might get it to it when I'm 105.
-
NICE! Wasn't there a Dart kit as well? I may be dreaming. Where is the Dick Landy figure that came in one of the kits? I think he should be standing with each car. Just my thought.
-
That looks great!

Hmmm, Magnum 500s on a Cobra? Or are those Pontaic Rallye IIs? Unusual. LOL. But I like it.

Here's a couple shots of the interior as it progresses. Gauge decals aren't in yet. Still need to drill the holes in steering wheel. The rings on the vents are Molotow instead of the metal transfers. Once again, I missed the interior color. But no one I know that will see it will say anything and this color looks fine with the green. Other than you guys of course. lol Car I'm modeling doesn't have radio so I didn't add it in either. Will work good in some other project someday. I did add the floor mat and protector on the console per photos on the net of the car I'm working on. just sheet plastic. Glued in and masked before flocking. I added the floor plate out of order of instructions and had to flex the chassis to get the tab on back wall under the engine insert. The floor plate goes a long way to stiffen the chassis. May be at a standstill soon as I wait for the body to cure. It takes a bit of spread to get the body over the chassis. Body has a LOT of undercut at the bottom. Just kinda fiddly. - practice that first before you try it for the "real" install. I saw that in just the first fitting in the first post

I often look up kits on the net before building. Sometimes finding information is sparse. So if I can share a tip, I will. My newest tip is that the chassis plate may have a bit of warp - check it before you get too deep into the build. I have been adding a few fishing weights to help with this and it gives a build a little bit of heft.
