I knew of B J Pollard and his collection in the early to mid 1950's. The closest I ever got to the man was when I delivered his morning Detroit Free Press and placed it inside his storm door. He Paid the paper directly, so I never had the honor of meeting him. He would drive an old fire truck around the small village we lived in located in the northwest burbs of Detroit. I do remember that his daughter lived on the south east corner of the block behind me and. one day, while riding my bike, there was a a beautiful Duesenberg Towncar parked on the side of her house. The references have listed below contain much info on this collection and who he was. If you open them, read them through to the end as they contain pictures of how he stored the cars and his spat with Henry Ford. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/need-to-learn-about-barney-pollards-collection.213230/ http://packardinfo.com/xoops/html/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?post_id=56967 http://forums.aaca.org/topic/138593-barney-pollards-collection/?page=3 http://blog.modernmechanix.com/worlds-champion-old-car-collector/

The newest model year in your stash

Old? What's this "old" thing you speak of? The newest kit in my stash is a 72 GTO. -

I printed a girl like this. The only thing is, I can't post up a picture because the only thing she's wearing are the high heals. She's 1/25 scale too and the detail is

3D printing growing as we speak
my66s55 replied to bbowser's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Whatever the price, it's too much. It's an FDM machine. in other words, it uses filament and is not capable of giving really fine detail as sla/dlp 3d printer will. here is a link to an explanation of the difference in the two. https://all3dp.com/fdm-vs-sla/. Two things I will correct in this article are: 1-You don't have to replace the resin vat on a dlp machine. The resin is universal to all machines and costs between $60 and $85 dollars for a liter. You can print a lot with one liter. Many jewelers use a dlp printer to do there jewelry. There is a special resin specifically for that purpose. Many of them use this printer: https://www.b9c.com/. Those of you who are familiar with me, know that I know what I am talking about. I own both a fdm and a dlp printer. Both were built by me. I have posted, in detail, prints from both machines and explained the difference between the two. The picture of the 1:24/25 spark plugs I posted were just too tiny for my camera to focus on. People who have seen them in the real are in complete awe and amazement. Here is a pic of the front suspension steering knuckle and spindle to my 1935 Lasalle in 1:24/25. You can't do this with an fdm filament machine. -

So true. -
So which was it? Bubblegum or Psychedelic? Wikipedia outlines it as both. Songs produced between Hanky Panky and Crimson and Clover were classified as Bubblegum. Tommy hated the classification and thus changed to Psychedelic. Everyone's post is correct.

3D printed spark plugs

Both the Mold Star and Smooth Cast are bubble free or close to it. The trick to using the Smooth Cast is to pour parts A & B into separate containers, let them sit for a few minutes to clear any bubbles. Then gently combine the two and gingerly stir so as to not create any new bubbles and pour. The pressure pot, I have found, forces resin into all tiny areas and gives a nicer cast.

It's been a year since I posted the first prints off of my high def 3d printer I build. Since that time, I have been able to do some amazing things with it. These spark plugs are an example. In the first pic are three scales. The largest is 1:8th or larger. The ones on the left are 1:16th. The ones on the right are 1:24th/25th. The ones in these two pics are the 1:16th & 1:24th/25th.

I have been using Smooth On for about 14 years and wouldn't use any thing else. Here is an Olds engine that I cast about a month ago. I cast 1:25 inside door hardware and they come out beautifully. Currently I am molding with their Mold Star 30 and casting with their Smooth Cast 310. I use a pressure pot at about 40-42 psi.
